Southwest Airlines will be allowed to purchase 14 slots at New York LaGuardia, a judge ruled Tuesday in the bankruptcy case of ATA Airlines. The deal, valued at $7.5 million, will allow the discount carrier to operate seven daily flights, pending a decision by the Port Authority on Southwest's request for a single gate at the busy airport. CEO Gary Kelly hinted at further growth in the future. "If we decide to grow in the future beyond the 14 slots, I'm reasonably comfortable we can get more facilities," he said. Which do you recommend? I believe yall have 10 different feeder companies. How has that worked out for yall? I would be extremely bitter if I was in your shoes too. It would SUCK to be a 30 yr FO. At least you get comfy in the seat huh?I thought you people call them SJs, good to see you've moved on. We will endure growing pains as we move forward. I just hope we can use the bad decisions of your comapany and others to facilitate good decision making as pilots. We appreciate the wisdom you have given us.

Not sure? These are all names you have called people when they don't agree 100% with your way of thinking. You should be really prould of this. Do you just stir the pot because you are bitter, old, have fragile hips, old wrinkley balls, and are pissed that your career turned out to be one stinking pile of sh!t? Respectifully submitted, of course.

Just about every retort you've had on this board is filled with venom and name calling. Does this make you feel better? I'm not one bit angry. If you don't like us, fine. I am comfortable in my shoes, are you?
I actually don't have a resume or logbook anymore. If this place goes t!ts-up, I'm applying at Whataburger.

Most of us are lucky to be here and realize the fortune we have had in the last 30 years. We've dodged many bullets, and will have many more to dodge. However, the anger and childish antics of someone like the Scope RJ dude is downright rediculous. You dont agree? Or does he have the right to be a d!ck since he has so much wisdom and experience?

How do you figure? You my brother are two faced. Do you shop at target, Wallmart, TJ max ect. or do you do as you preach and only shop at specialty stores? I do think we all know the answer. By the way miss two face, who do you fly for ? Ya, once again I am sure you will not say.
 
Bluefin is a flight attendant at JB, however he has a CFI and instructs part time.

Maybe some of the regional jet Capts that are now FO's at SWA can show the LUV CA's how to operate out of LGA....

Remember when SWA first started flying the NE corridor back in the day!

I do remember, I would jumpseat on USAir and they would let me know how within a year they would run us out of BWI with our tail between our legs. This was all the time not just one time and from alot of different groups at USAir. We had about 30 flts a day out of BWI they had almost 300

Dude...easy on the criticisms. Please don't make SWA the personification of "pride goeth before a great fall". This is my third airline and I want it to be the last one.I'm sure all the stuff people said in the past would surely be taken back today,so PLEASE....just let it go.

Wow.... I didn't think it would be that quick for some insecure SWA guy to get offended even though I ensured it was said in fun....


Anyway....

The joke or fun was about your collective groups piloting skills from flying the Texas Plains to the NE corridor... not the true brilliance of your managements marketing and business plan. Fact is SWA has a brilliant Corporate Leadership and the pilots, as "boots on the ground" help execute that plan...

The stories when you first hit the NE corridors with your "direct request" after you checked in, were quickly tempered....with greater block times (?) it is all good though...

Because we all know how hard it is to fly the NE corridor? Give me a break! Sounds like your company got a wealth of information and piloting skills when they hired you?
 
Some flying is more difficult than others. We all know that flying to Mexico and Canada is pretty easy...but still above the skill level of some pilots.
 
Does anyone know the timeframe of this flying starting? I thought I read someone that Airtran has the slots leased until the end of 2009.
