Hits pretty close to home for you, huh? Seriously, you guys on FI need to come off your high horse. It's a merger, and arbitrators will decide your fate, not just your union and their so called promises. GK won't save you either, or keep you separate. Come back to Earth, you fly junky old 737-300s between Little Rock and St. Louis. My plans call for more exotic destinations than that, and I have a better chance of attaining that goal than you do.

You don't listen do you kid? I've been to the exotic spots-I flew my rj after a furlough- have you been this dumb or do you know what 9/11 did to so many careers? I had a Flt instructor/check hauler/night cargo/ feeder turboprop commuter stepping stone career to a major and though not perfect, thought I was done interviewing after moving pretty far up a list at a legacy and getting to do a lot of different flying- and then the towers fell...

And guess what, the generation before me had their challenges and turmoil.

as for exotic- it IS great, but I'd rather fly between STL-LIT for southwest than cabo, or Paris, or hong kong, st Thomas for any legacy-
Delta would be a good job- but I don't respect DALPA for outsourcing bigger jets out of bk for a raise for the senior- showing they learned nothing.

I know too many brothers at too many carriers not to wish them luck- though still young, I have found myself truly happy and unstressed for the first time in almost two decades...with literally a hundred good friends who have not.

So you'll excuse me if I find some kid spouting off about the type to be seriously flawed in his thinking- I've been where you are- who cares about exotic spots, or type rating $$ - after everything this career can throw at a pilot- it's just dumb-

But it's still a long career to go- I wouldn't be so sure that a Swa pilot won't get to those spots you got on the pedestal

For the guys who keep reporting some of these posts, CLR is on vacation, OneWithWings is currently unavailable, and I'm not moderating the SWA/AAI threads, so no one is here who can address it.

When CLR comes back I'm sure he'll get to it, I don't know when that will be.

No, you're not hitting close to my home. I tried the subtle approach but since that apparently went sailing right over your flight level, I guess I need to be more direct: Do you know just how big of a fool you are making of yourself every time you post? You are personifying the stereo-typical spoiled young buck whose dad flew the big iron for Legacy Airlines, and you have an out-sized sense of entitlement to that same career. You are doing a laughable job of trying to match wits with many seasoned aviators here who have walked the walk, when you can barely talk the talk. This industry can be extremely cruel to pilots and their families, and I hope you don't experience the worst it can dole out. But the sheer quantity of bad karma you spill out on a daily basis is staggering. Be sure to archive your posts. Because 10-15 years from now when you truly know a bit more of what you speak, you should re-read them to see what I was talking about.

Not really a stretch. When I went through, they only spent two days on systems. Two. You were on your own for the rest. So yeah, the type helped in that regard.

Nah Lear, Im here.. I've been paying for training.... Since I have been away from active dispatching for some years.. I thought I would go back to school.. and since there is no such thing as recurrent training for dispatchers that "dont" currently work for an airline.. I elected to retake the entire dispatch/ATP course and exam on my own dollar to be current for new employment opportunities..
Call if PFT.. yeap, we all paid for training somewhere in our lives... especially in aviation..

So I get these reported posts on several members here, but mostly J-ROD... First I want to thank you for the reports on this member, to be fair, I now had to take up an hour of my morning to read this entire thread from the beginning.. Boring for an outsider... the more I read the more it looked like facebook or some other social girls club...But I degress...

I can appreciate the education and debate some of you have made with J-Rod, but people are entitled to their opinions.. on FI, there are the TOS rules for me to follow, and I did not see a violation by J-Rod on here or others.. none...

This is a case of 1) place him on your ignor list... or 2) just don't reply to his posts, or 3) get some thinker skin.... His posts can give you a headache, but he has his opinion on the PFT thing.. "I disagree with his description as well" ...never the less it is his..

He was a part timer from Iran? I can't explain that, I never flew for them, and would not because they want people to pay to play. SWA could easily get rid of that policy, they aren't the po dunk little Texas airline that "could" any more. But, they refuse to get rid of that. CAL has a bad policy of not paying for insurance for newhires for the first six months of employment, which is another bad policy. Some CAL pilots don't mind because they have spouses that have them on their own insurance from their own job. Doesn't that sound like SWA guys who interviewed there already with a type, they just look away
and put up with it because it doesn't affect them monetarily? You guys just turn away and close your eyes, thinking it just isn't happening.......Both are bad, and both are similar. SWA can easily afford to change this for the better.

The shrink is gonna love you.

Ha ha! Fair enough brother. I just came from a "be able to build it" background and was shocked at how little they taught, no, how little they want you to know about systems these days. I think it may be a trend toward eliminating the use of common sense, and instead, "just pull the QRH".

I remember needing to know "how" and "why". Not anymore....
