What is a decent? A descent?

DTW is easy...try going into BWI with Washington Center. Now that's a descent 250 miles out.

Chicago Center pretty legendary too. Got to take care of the O'hare airspace first.

Welcome back Kwick! Where you been?

When your average taxi out is under 7 minutes it's just easier to start 'em both up and get out of Dodge!

Gup

Actually I was wondering about that. I jumpseat on you guys and always wondered why you don't taxi on one engine. Is that so you don't lose time during taxi ?
(real question, no sarcasm. Always been welcomed on your planes)

Hell, the single-engine shutdown checklist takes 7 minutes to complete just by itself. And the parking brake has to be set. (no earthly reason why a guy couldn't do the checklist and taxi at 40 knots simultaneously ) Gen/oys, that was your cue.....

Sacha is right. We taxi on two engines because our Air Force trained flight ops managers don't think we can handle taxiing while the FO starts the other engine.

Crazy, huh?
