Ok who was the first to take the bait. Somehow a feel good thread turned into another... Respect me... love me... deserve... pilot lawyer... thread. You guys blow.

No we do not trust ALPA. I don't trust the Bears either but they are my team so like an idiot I pay to watch every season.

Well my friend, we will all have to follow President Reagan's advice and trust but verify!

Carl P, I agree. I have to caution you though, most of how Airtran does things will be flatly rejected by SWA mgmt on the basis that "That's not how we do things here." There's a lot of tribalism between the various departments that leads to deadlock and inability to get things done right. I hope the best Airtran practices (in and out of the cockpit) will be adopted. Don't hold your breath though. I would say, get used to banging your head against a wall. Instead, I think better advice is to do what I am working on and just repeat a calming mantra like, "It's okay, I'm glad to have a job here. I can't change anything and that's okay." Seriously, you could go insane with some of the idiocy from our operation. So good luck, hope arbitration works out well for everyone, and get used to doing things different. That's just the way it is. (Que the Bruce Hornsby piano music).

A slight retraction/clarification. This is a great place to work and I love it here. You will too. Our management says they are ready to start adopting a lot of Airtran practices, etc. They just don't have a great track record lately with some of their lofty ideas. It's just too hard to get through the bureaucracy at the end of the day.

You guys sound like affirmative action heroes over there. Why don't you call Al Sharpton he might be able to help your peoples cause.

We already have Al Sharpton. Please try to stay abreast of the situation.

400Ahole climbs out from beneath his PFT rock to spew drivel once again. You have no dog in this hunt so go back to watching Barney, digging holes in your basement floor or trolling the Regionals board; whichever it is you do.

Threats were not made. Reassertion of fact was stated.

Getting "bought" has nothing to do with anything. This is still a merger of operations between two profitable non-bankrupt Major airlines to create what will be one highly competetive and well-positioned new company...of which you will most likely never see except from the gate waiting area or from the right seat window of your C-172.

Some funny stuff! Thanks for the laugh.

I think you need to relax big boy. Until any reasonable SLI talks have been going on and/or the time line has pressed up to the 18 month limit that your CBA states operations have to be merged then I'd probably zip it. We all get it, you want to get over to the SWA payscale as soon as posible and SWAPA's TA makes you nervous. The reason you all got your panties in a wad over the 18 month operation merger in your CBA shows exactly what your game plan is for the SLI negotiations. Your 18 month requirement is only good if they merge operations and it is probably as useful as a no-forlough clause. Worthless. What are going to do if 18 months goes by??? File a grievance?:laugh::laugh:

Tell you what I would nervous about, the fact SWAPA hasn't negotiated any codeshare deal with the company. That should tell you something.

LOL, it won't be a problem for me. They sign the check, I'll do it their way. I gave up trying to make sense of this biz 2 furloughs ago. I'll be thrilled with working for management that values the employees!

75M,

Thanks.
