Carl P, I agree. I have to caution you though, most of how Airtran does things will be flatly rejected by SWA mgmt on the basis that "That's not how we do things here." There's a lot of tribalism between the various departments that leads to deadlock and inability to get things done right. I hope the best Airtran practices (in and out of the cockpit) will be adopted. Don't hold your breath though. I would say, get used to banging your head against a wall. Instead, I think better advice is to do what I am working on and just repeat a calming mantra like, "It's okay, I'm glad to have a job here. I can't change anything and that's okay." Seriously, you could go insane with some of the idiocy from our operation. So good luck, hope arbitration works out well for everyone, and get used to doing things different.
