Did anyone ever read "I hope they serve beer in hell"? When Tucker possed as different people on a forum to get his law firm to increase pay. This looks identical.

This will be my last response to this topic. However, it appears that if anybody says anything that is not in line with Tye or his close friends then you are either not an Airtran pilot or other employee. I sure hope ALPA listens with an open mind and not just what you guys think. You really need to start opening up your mind and look at things with a different attitude not just say "you are not one of us" you must be swa. Have a good day.

Wish this forum would allow embedding videos ...

Lear, is there any chance?

I only have one login. But I also agree that things don't look good for a smooth integration which is why I think (JMHO) that GK will not ruin years and years of great employee relations by screwing the junior SWA pilots. If I were an AirTran pilot I would take a staple just to get on the list. Otherwise I see a chance at no SLI and the possibility that SWA will offer preferential interviews to Guadaloupe pilots.

I hope the Trannies don't screw it up. SWA is my favorite airline when I fly commercial - if you don't count other non-US airlines.

If I were a SW guy, I would accept a staple to make sure they have a
future and don't have to furlough.

Better read GK's comments, SW needs this merger to go forward.
Hope the junior SW guys don't screw it up like they did the Frontier
merger.

Well it didn't take long for this thread to spiral out of control.

We should just start every thread with ******************** YOU! We'd save hours.

Gup

c'mon GUP... What else did you expect from Bob Dylan....I wouldn't call it out of control. I'm thinking that there is bigger news to come from SWA after the AAI deal gets sorted out. Everyone is going to be happy. Except Bob Dylan...he'll still be "BLOWIN in wind" for some time to come.

WTH? I don't hate Trannies at all. In fact, I'm jealous. You guys just scored the biggest lottery ticket in aviation. I just see a trainwreck coming and hope you guys don't screw it up. Some Trannies probably busted their SWA interview and had to go to their fallback airline and now are going to get their dream job.

Just don't get greedy.

Jealousy is a form of hating, I'm just sayin'..........

Dylan...nobody at AT wants to screw anything up. Neither does ALPA.

But...AT-ALPA will make it very clear to SWA that our contractual rights will be enforced, Federal law will be enforced, and we will not be rolled over, looked down upon, or be told to accept anything that is not fair and equitable just because we supposedly, "won the lottery".

Having said that, if both sides go in with full respect for each other, this whole thing should go just fine. I think it is safe to say that we are all hopeful for that and for the great company that will emerge as a result.

Don, nice post, I think it is fair to say respect has nothing to do with this process. It is business. Yes the law is the law, and yes Airtrain pilots will still be second to Delta pilots, just like SWA pilots, just ask General Lee.

Thank you Don. From an AT pilot.

Both sides haven't even talked SLI yet and your saying:

Before you make stupid threats like this, think about your FUTURE cause it might get kinda difficult if you start acting like a toddler, especially if oil keeps going north. Remember you got BOUGHT. Get it yet??

Southwest has every right to do what they want with your company unless they combine operations, then and only then does your Federal Law apply. You guys sound like affirmative action heroes over there. Why don't you call Al Sharpton he might be able to help your peoples cause.

The new name for your airline will be "AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AIRLINES"

I believe we already have the Reverend Jesse Jackson on retainer.

With all do respect guys there are federal laws that apply. Our CBA has merger/acquisition language that protects the Airtran pilots. The RLA does mandate that our CBA is adhered to. If we were in bankruptcy it would be a different story. Pilots at all airlines, including SW, should hope that protection is followed. Im 31 yrs old and who knows the past president that could be created if Airtran was dissolved and 1750 pilots were on the street. I understand this highly unlikely, but very scary. If this were to happen guys at Jetblue would be totally screwed if AA bought them. 20 yrs down the road who know which airline will be the big dog. I and other AAI guys are most concerned about the fear of unemployment. The RLA protects airline labor groups and forces CBA's to be complied with. Please guys don't misconstrue my words, I just think it is extremely important for all pilots to be protected in the event of being acquired. I just don't wanna be on the street, please understand that.
