Don't they operate all the 777's for DHL? CVG to OBBI, LAX to Liepzig, and an around the world flight?

They don't operate all the 777's. Aerologic, which is a joint venture of DHL & Lufthansa, has some too.

Interesting, surprised they didn't look at Omni.

They may have, but Omni is family owned and thus has an emotional element to the value and may not be for sale at any cost. Southern is owned by venture capitalists who care about only one thing....... the balance sheet. Shiny jets and the feelings of the pilots have no value to them. The color of the ink on the quarterly report is all they see! Too much red and its time to cut the losses as they say! They are billionaires for a reason.

For what it's worth (maybe just to add to everyone speculating), I was advised by SOO HR that the possible move to CVG has been put on the backburner for the time being....

The Atlas Exco has been clear, they have heard nothing official or unofficial on the merger/purchase with Southern. They were simply responding to the same rumors we have all heard when they met with the Southern Exco to talk about the process, if it were to happen.

All the sources at Purchase N.Y. (Atlas HDQ) say it is NOT going to happen.
