chperplt,
Look, I couldn't care less if anyone has religion or what their religion is. I am just curious as to why it is only Christianity that is regarded by some as vile and not any of the other established religions. Thanks for not being able to answer my question, though your condescending tone is quite humorus. Sorry if I offended. Just looking for answers.

From chper:

"Jews for Jesus is my favorite topic of conversation. They ARE NOT Jews. They are funded by the baptist community. The same people who strategically planned at one of the latest baptist convention to convert every Jew to christianity. How can a true Jew like myself be anything but offended by anyone associated with this agenda."

Chper, this may or may not interest you, here in Orlando there is a ministry called Zion's Hope headed by a gentleman named Marv Rosenthal. A few years ago he headed a ministry based out of South Jersey, Friends of Israel. There is also a small one in St. Louis headed by Marty Zide named Midwest Messianic Center. There are Jewish folks in leadership positions at all these ministries.

sf3boy, ít does seem like freedom of speech can be selective at times.

The point being, these are not Jews. They may call themselves Jews and have Jewish sounding names, but they are NOT practicing Jews. Any real Jew knows the difference. Again, my statement was about who funds this organization.

Sorry man.. Can't answer your question and I didn't mean to be rude.

I don't regard any religion as vile, I feel religion is a wonderful thing. Whatever you can do to make yourself happier, complete, or fufilled person, be sure and do it.
After reading your post I sat and thought about what you said.
I can honestly say I have never been asked or been judged by any religious sector other than Christians. I myself feel that I am a Christian, many others out there would question that and are more than willing to tell me. The stongest critics that I have met, and the ones that are so passionate about religious discussion are the ones that strayed the furthest. From dependents of Alcohol, drugs, adultery etc...to now have found Jesus and have saved themselves. Now they feel it is there duty to save others. Which I feel is great for those that need saved, but to many, we are in no need of that lifeline. Maybe just not right now?If they feel that Jesus saved them and have seen the light, great but keep that between you and the Lord, not in the cockpit. The ones I have met have moved from one addiction to another. Take if for what it's worth.
Not labeling anyone on this board or trying to start flamebait just simply trying to answer sf3boy question.

SF3 boy: In many places it is dangerous to your health if you talk about religion. Like those christian idiots (sorry I just don't have a better name for them) that went to Afghanistan during the Taliban regime. After they were discovered they start crying for help. Shouln't have gone their in the first place, they knew the consequences.
Just like muslims in the US. Since they are the minority, talking about it will just receive a lot of flak, and maybe worse depending on who's around them. They keep their beliefs for that reason behind closed doors.
Christians are the majority here, and as such feel that nobody can stop them preaching their beliefs.
I spent several years in northwest Europe, there was a lot of animosity between catholics and protestants (I'm not talking about the british isles here). So much that two neighbouring farmers would not even talk to each other, or help each other. You can be in one town that's catholic, the one 5 miles down the road is protestant. And oh man, if you get a girlfriend who's 'from the other side'.
For this reason alone people there will not talk about it. Also many learned their lessons during WW2. Being known in your community for sending prayers the wrong way turned out to be deadly for millions, not only jews

cherplt: no offense taken whatsoever.

metrodriver: I agree with ya with those missionary folks that knowingly put themselves in a place that they are not welcome. Not smart at all.

Did anyone happen to save this thread before the crash?

regards,

I didn't know how to "save" a thread.

It looks like most of it is missing, since there were some nine pages and over 4,000 views shown before the crash...

Apparently, some of the members were interested in our discussion.

Any questions? Feel free.

Note on computer "recovery": I notice that my TT has decreased to an amount from several weeks ago, so we must be looking at a board that is several weeks "old".

Oh well, maybe time to put this thread to sleep, and talk about planes again
And if you want to find them all back go into your computer under 'find files' and type in TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES , here you'll find every webpage and e-mail you have looked at

I delete my temporary internet files about once a week. It's an old habit from when I was working with about a 40 meg HD:-)
I also hate to have all those cookies residing there. XP makes it a little harder to get to, but it can be done. Also, some internet security programs automatically delete the files on a predetermined schedule.

Glad to see that at least part of this thread is around. Before the crash it had 274 replies and was going strong. I had been out on a trip and spent 1.0 reading all the post. They were awesome. The discussion would have made a 17.0 hour trip to down under a very nice thing.

I also delete my temp internet files. The other day I had 3900 files there, and a lot of unwanted cookies.

TB-Your ability to present the gospel and argument for the precious Word is a gift. I enjoy reading your post-keep it up-in the end "every knee shall bow" it just depends whether they want to now or later. Thanks.

BTW-if you get a chance to go and see "The Pianist" it is an awesome movie.

Hey, bud. Praise from you in this area means a lot.

Every time someone asks a question or makes a statement that needs an answer, I remember all of the experiences that I had when I was a seeker. With all to the "new age" stuff around, it seemed like a big mess, and I had to slog through most of it before I discovered the incredible level of deceit and misinformation available out there.

Most of the folks here will have no other means of gaining an insight than asking a question of a fellow pilot. If I can give a solid account of my understanding, it may be a help to guys who are wondering and wandering, just like I had done.

Thanks for the movie tip, too.
