You get the nice cards? I just get the nastygrams.

Oh well at least someone out there is thinking about me. :)

Be fair Diesel. I have written privately (and kindly) to you and your family. Every word was from the heart and a lot of thought went into what I wrote. Please don't imply that I ever sent anything negative as that isn't the case. Our disagreement was stated openly in our posts and has nothing to do with my efforts to help build camaraderie and show support for 1108 families.

I've sent lots of get-well cards, actually, usually to NJ pilots. I wouldn't mind including 'Owner if he were ill. :) Or any of the regulars here, for that matter.

RNO, you need to read more closely....;) it wasn't just for agreeing. It was all about making the effort to meet on common ground. I firmly believe that frac families share a lot in common and can build a community spirit based on professional respect that is extended to include all of the pilots and their families.

The frac lifestyle (and life in general) can be difficult enough without adding the additional weight of insults and pettiness to the equation. Fortunately, a few cheerful words can help make a positive difference. The cards are unobtrusive and optional with potential for good. I invite the board members to take what they will from them, or ignore them, as their interests dictate.
Respectfully,

NJW -- they all are fine. The kids keep me quite busy.

I generally fly outof the same airports 90% of the time so I have my catering mastered. I know who makes a good roast beef sandwich and who doesn't. Not to be stereotypical --but inthe northeast, southeast and Cal. coast a "sandwich" easily feeds one,if not two. Most places in between, each of my kids easily eats 2 sandwiches (since each only has 2 slices of meat between the white bread). Rudy's catering for 4 feeds 8. Some other's catering for 4 feeds 2.

And actually, I do not care for the extra time and pretense on the catering with the oven on the DA-2000 and Gs. No matter when we eat, everyone gets hungry as soon as we get on the jet and it takes way too long to put out the table cloths and put the sandwiches on a pretty looking plate. Plus, not matter how nice they are, I prefer to just spend tme with the family and not make small talk with the FA. So we much prefer the non-FA flights (though the G4 is a nice plane).

Two of you will be flying us tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

Fly safe.

Still looking forward to that beer!

NJA Owner, I'm still looking forward to the beer you offered (or was it dinner, sorry, I can't remember, your support for the "troops" is fine) me when I got back from Iraq.
Unfortunately, now I'm in Afghanistan (6 days til "hump day" on another year tour)

Netjetwife, Really appreciate you "hubby" helping me with my issue on my Cpt bid.

I am well, I seldom get to Flightinfo because it's blocked in "the box".

I'm on a trip in Germany enjoying a nice cool "Das Helle" pils!

God bless you both, thanks for your support! I am well.

Semore...

I'm happy you have a break from the sand box, Semore. My husband was glad to help and he did pass on your greetings. Take care, NJW

Sigh..............

Semore -- thanks for your efforts.

I have not forgotten --beer or dinner - your choice. Let me know when you are in NJ.

Thanks and Fly safe.

NJAowner.....a couple of questions.

1. How was your last flight on NJs? plane clean? good crew? good catering?

2. Why dont you own your "own" plane vs. a fractional? is it cost or total hands off?

3. How did you get so rich? (so we can follow your lead)

Ski & Surf --

1. My last few flights have been great; plane clean; happy and jovial crew; catering was fine (smaller portions than before -- catering for 5 now feeds 8 hungry people; it used to feed 10-12).

2. It is cost and time. I spend only a few minutes per year "maintaining" my share; my costs are also certain (expensive but certain). I do not fly ehough hours to justify my own plane and do not want the bother/risk of chartering it out. I have a few friends who own their own and know of their many headaches. If my "plane" has service/mechanical issues, another one just magically shows up ("it's not my problem").

3. One of the issues I do not speak about much.

Fly safe.

My thoughts, exactly. Look we're agreeing again....:p

A good rule to follow, I think, is don't post anything you wouldn't say in person. I bet that would solve a lot of the rudeness.

You see RNO she was trying to tell you something. :)

Of course you would say it face to face. :)

I was not doubting RNO's manners, and as he had already quoted S&S, I thought that my hint (for S&S) was obvious enough. That said, I do believe it's a rule of fairness and etiquette that we'd all be better off adopting.
Respectfully,
Netjetwife

3. How did you get so rich?
If he is like the wealthy people I know, he only worked half a day - but he picked his hours, 7 to 7, 8 to 8, etc. - and I bet he worked smart !

Most likely so. In life we have to play the cards we're dealt and we don't all get the same hand. Circumstances and timing can matter greatly and the best advice can't provide those. Making the most of what you have seems to be a common theme of success.

Success is difficult to define because the definition is usually based on someone elses values. To me, success means achieving what you personally wanted to accomplish. I have seen entirely too many who appear successful to the outside for whom their is no inner satisfaction. It has little to do with making the most of anything.

Current customers are lame-ducks as far as profit. The money has been made, and the contract signed. Next please

Hi,

That's not entirely true.

Remember that the owner who wants out will have to pay the remarketing fee (7% up to Falcon 2000 and 4% from Falcon 2000 and larger) and will be offered the so called "fair market value" for his "used" share.

This share will then be sold again, and you can bet that the "fair market value" of the same share will be quite different when the fractional company is selling it than when its buying it.

Also, if the owner is so angry that he wants to leave before the minimum time set in the contract is reached (24 to 36 months depending on aircraft type): there is no out, he is obligated to pay the contractual management fees up to the time the contract will allow him to ask for his guaranteed buy back. Then, see above...

Have fun!!!

Don’t lie (which is what they are doing), don’t tell an owner that their plane will have range to go from TEB-EGE if you are assuming there is light baggage, two pax, and there are perfect conditions for flight, don’t make the customer mad. The more spent on these deals, the more angry an owner will be when he or she doesn’t get what is promised

Hi,

Believe it or not, the majority of people working in sales for the factionals actually have no or very limited previous experience with aircraft. They simply don't know what they are talking about and have to rely on what they are told.

As pointed out in one of the previous posts, the companies make the profit on sales, sales and more sales, so the sales person gets the answer that will suit the prospect and eventually convert him to an owner.

Never mind that the owner will not be happy, the money is made, and if he gets out before the end of the contract, they will make more on the remarketing fee (up to 7%) and on reselling the used share.

That's life in the frax.

Have fun!!!

You guys are lying if you've never thought of how some of the folks in the back became rich/wealthy. I know I have on my 7th day and 14th hour and heading away from my domicile. Especially some of the good folks we pick up in "the outskirts", like west virginny, or Americus, GA. That's frustrating! I'M flying YOU around? I'm only talking about a small percentage. Don't get me wrong.

Read the Millionaire next door.

Its a great book.

Read the Millionaire next door.

Its a great book.

I second that! The best advice from the book is is too many people play offense (working to make money) without regard to defense (managing what you spend). If you can't read, its also available as an audio book. :)

My grandmother would always ask - "Are you going to succeed in spite of that or fail because of it ? The choice is yours."

Kind of rude to even ask, don't you think???

Not at all. This is an anonymus message board. I didnt ask for his name, just how he got rich. I get asked all the time of what kind of work I do, I never get upset. We have a different type of job and some people ask about it. This guy seems to like to talk a lot and "brag" about riding in the back with a drink while we fly. He is very open about flying in all types of planes. I thought if he likes to talk that much, he could tell us that he is an inventor, an athlete, an entertainer a CEO or whatever. The fact that he doesnt want to say makes me think he is either a normal poor guy that dreams big, or he inhereted the money. It doesnt matter, I will never know who he is if he says what he did.

Next time someone asks me what I do, I will tell them to get f*** off.

No, I will be honest and tell the truth, as I have nothing to hide.

Ski.....how much money do you have?

How did you make it....

Type of House?

Car?

Investments?

Never mind....Its none of my damn business!!!!!!

Ski, I think the regular posters have a sense of community and don't view each other as strangers. We respect that each of us shares as we see fit. If I remember correctly, 'Owner is a businessman. More importantly, to me, he is appreciative and supportive of the pilots. That's worth a lot...;)

Old, your grandmother sounds like a delightful lady whose words of wisdom still linger...:) A small tribute to her---

SPOKEN WITH LOVE IN A STRONG VOICE--
HER WORDS OF WISDOM ECHO DOWN THE YEARS.
SHE TAUGHT YOU THAT YOU HAVE A CHOICE--
GIVE IN TO THEM, OR STAND UP TO YOUR FEARS.

Have a good weekend everyone.
