Pilots got to start standing up for ourselves. That was the whole intent of the letter. I am standing up for myself and letting a company know that if they value my services they will need to value me as a person. A pilot job is a little different than a 9-5 job, as you are away from home so much. It is important to me that the company I give my career to will at least respect me. I know it is a business, but it has been proven that you can take care of you employees and be successful in business. Alaska can do that. They have had incredibly dedicated employees and a loyal customer base and a good product. yet, they have chosen to take care of the executives and stockholders first. This will in the the long run come back to hurt them.
