Finally some pilots with some balls! SKYW flt 1115 from DFW-IAH cnx today due to CAL flight # on flight (which goes against our arbitration award.) Pilots refused to fly flight. Now, if ALL pilots could grow a spine like these guys did, we would all be doing so much better.

Excellent job, guys!

It does take a spine to do that. I just hope he keeps his job. I've heard of Skywest guys losing their jobs for far less than that.

Pretty clear. SKYW pilots have been getting a hard time since this was announced....They were denied jump seats, been called the S word, told that they need to refuse the flying or not bid that base......And other than name calling what has the CAL pilot group done. Are they flying SAFE, or refusing to fly because of it........Nope just asking someone else to do the heavy lifting.....As a Furloughed UAL guy I sure hope CAL guys are ready to fight there own battle when it comes to it...... I have many friends at CAL and most share my point or view!

My hat is off to them. Way to go guys! If only half the pilot group had the balls those guys have things would be different.

Airways operates 8 190s that are owned by RAH. When will Airways pilots uphold the scope of the RAH pilots?

/I'll see your standard and double it.

Sorry Paulsalem, don't follow you there. As I said, I think its great that the crew did that. My fear though is that their decision will end up as a noble gesture, but ultimately will cost them their job.

If you'd like to discuss Airway's scope and RAH I'd love to do it in another thread.

Wrong. They phased them out over 6-8 mos. During that time Republic leased them back because USAIR had to maintain their schedule. I believe USAIR owned all 190, just like they owned the 170 which they sold to the same idiots. Republic has been a class act in replacing other jobs. I never seen so many jobs being replaced by lower and less experienced pilots. United, Midwest EX and USAIR pilots are all victim of the turbo growth at this sorry airline.

So the Skywest Pilot had the balls to do what CAL pilots didn't.........

Exactly, like the articles I read about CAL pilots and their picketing. CAL guys didn't have the balls to hold a sign in front of the EWR terminal, or was it IAH? Now you are going to lean on a bunch of regional pilots to uphold your contract?

The port authority told CAL pilots to move and you guys did. How many signs did they let you hold, five? In the parking lot? Not one of you stood your ground. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I totally agree. I think the Continental guys should have the Skywest pilots picket for them from here on out.

First off gutsy move by the Sky West crew. Second I am having a hard time understanding the anti CAL pilot on this issue, if we didn't hold the scope then fight and win the arbitration there wouldn't be any thing for some one not to fly. Give us a break on this one geez were fighting and winning.

And all those CAL pilots on here and the various boards that blasted us SkyWest pilots and the calls to deny us the jumpseat and our standing bid list being passed around, we are non union scum, etc etc etc. Many of us are very supportive of the CAL scope fight, and when a capt DOES take a stand (beyond what the CAL MEC recommended us to do: fly and just report it to SAPA then passed the report to the CAL MEC)(and could punished or even fired) where will the CAL pilots be? Will they take donations to help this CA out? Prob not..

That pilot sure shouldn't be having to buy themselves any beer for the foreseeable future.

Well done.
