Skywest had lifted seat locks on bro for pilots to transition over the rj. Is this new or has it been going on for a while? This was the first I have heard of it.

It happens every once in a while, depending on company needs.
I was at SKYW for a little over 5 years and I remember them doing this at least twice during that time span.

Come on already! Somebody come and say "if you had ALPA" you wouldn't have or have to give up a seat lock.

They probably will have to since they are getting all those jets. The 12 comair planes and probably all ore most of the 76 seat flying.

Where did you get your information about the lift of the 1 year seat lock?

The company has posted nothing about this.

You can verify whether or not this is true by seeing who the junior guy awarded transition is then looking up the date of hire. Not saying either way (don't know) but the ionformation is available to you as a SkyWest employee.

They don't post anything saying that. Guys that were hired in may into the bro just got a dec 11th RJ class. Wait and look at the new awards when they updated it. You will see.

I cant believe people actually care about this.....but yes it's true....OMG!!!!
Had two 6-7 month bro dudes in my rj class last month. Everyone can settle down now.

you also have to realize that sometimes the award and the actual class date maybe a month or more apart......so it might appear that someone got the transition award in 10 months, but they might not be starting class until their year is up. In the end it doesn't matter........and I definitely wouldn't plan anything based on the lock being sometimes lifted.....

With those transitions they bro hiring is still slowing? The class Camielle told me was only 8 peolple on January 8. Wiht the transitions there could be more. Anyone have any ideas of other class dates??? Thanks.

I can confirm it. I started in the Bro on march 13th, and started transition class on the 20th of November. 8 months and 7 days

I called them last week and they said there was no official class date yet for the guys in the Brasilia pool. They told me to expect sometime in February. I was going to try to get into the January class.

All depends on need and availability, if it benefits the company and the pilot seat locks have been released.

:rolleyes:Well you confirmed it....even on a HOLIDAY you are still a D!CK!!!

What the matter Tomclit, drug stores closed and you ran out of Midol? Poor little gash.....

That's good for the folks in DEN, I've been sitting reserve here on the EMB for two months and not one flight...how many ways are there to say unsafe?

Let me get this right, you are upset that you have'nt had to work for 2 months. Hahaha..... you must be new.

Hard to believe things stagnated for DEN EMB. For a while there, we couldn't keep FOs for more than a few months. Heck, we even had good movement on the CA side of the house.

The captain list seems to be moving quicker than the FO list. I guess the senior FO's are waiting to transition until after December.

You flying a real plane yet, or still training?

fastback,

I managed to get the CRJ-1200! We finished systems training on Wednesday. Fixed-base SIM starts next Thursday and I should be done with all SIM training on December 23. I'll probably get the holidays off before starting OE in January.

Hope all is going well for you at DEN.

Mookie,

Yes, you may get credit for coming up with the "CRJ-1200"!

Why all the hate? :)
Is it the SEA base or the holidays off? ...or both?

Baze,

From my favorite Pizza Hut Ad years ago:

Jerry Jones: "So Deion, will it be $10 million or $15 million."
Deion Sanders: "Boeff!!!"

How often does the CRj 1200 go to PVR, SJD, ZIH, MZN, and soon OGG??

(still jealous...)
Mookie
