Delta is only keeping a few Connection routes out of LAX. Looks like SFO, OAK, SJC, SMF, and maybe RNO. So it must be a mix of UA and DL flying with that many slots.

What are they doing with the Mexico flying that Expressjet was doing? LTO, LAP, MZT, HMO, CUL, TOR, etc...

mesa - the proverbial turd in the punchbowl !

skywest is no peach, either. They're one of the originators of 70-seat flying for 50-seat pay. Although, today, they walk around like their $hit doesn't stink.

It does make sense. I was in on a conversation just recently with a couple of checkairman (they seemed to know what they were talking about) that said that Skywest eventually wants to have "Superbases". SFO is the next big base to open and with several more closures except for FAT. SBA will be the last to close in California. Even SAN will go away. COS is safe but TUS is up in the air. (I wonder if TUS is dependent on whether Skywest gets US Air flying out of PHX). Skywest is transforming into a different kind of company. All this to take place over the next 2 years.

TUS will be around for at least 5 more years since Skywest just moved out of their cruddy open hangar and into Bombardiers hangar with a 5 year lease. If PHX did open Im sure TUS would still be a small base or they would be doing a lot of ferry flights for C checks and major MX.

LAX will be for United.

The a/c lost for midwest in MKE I believe two will be spares and the others will go for the XJet flying but will be based on SLC.

So United CRJ700 out of LAX. And CRJ200s added to Delta SLC, what about the Delta LAX flying?

The DAL LAX flying is being done mostly by the SLC crews. Some months in the past, other bases got a little of that flying too when they flowed through SLC onto LAX. XJT didn't/doesn't have an exclusive on all that flying. Skywest was still doing some of that flying too but XJT was doing most of it.
