General,

It's not so much giving up as hedging a bet and the odd's are pretty long. Six years on furlow? I'm almost forty, say five years before I might get hired, fly for two or three, furlow for six. That would make me about 54 and unemployed with a prospect of six years to save for retirement, no thanks. I buy Powerball tickets sometimes, but I have a backup plan as well.

Jon

Jon,

It sometimes come down to when you get hired. I was lucky enough to get hired during the start of a big hiring boom--in '96. Some people might not have wanted to try then, but then tried later and may have been burned. You just have to be ready and lucky. Sending larger planes to the regionals will just ensure less possible jobs in the future at the Majors. I flew at a "commuter" (Dorniers and E120s out of MDW in the early 90s), so I know all about that and the attempt to jump to the Majors. It is a risk, but one that is worth it in the long run.

OH GL too bad you can't pit ASA against REpulick/shuttlewagon/chitaco? Why not compare the 15+ E170's that are in SLC or on the way. Don't pit SKYW against ASA. ASA is going to be fine assuming they don't strike and end your DAL career. Good luck on getting E190's. EMB doesn't even have you penciled in they maybe column.

oh yeah during bankruptcy your contract means nothing to anyone except you GL.

There is a liimit to the number of E170s that CHQ/ShuttleCraft can use--which is 16 I believe. They also use them from JFK to AUS and SAT, and to and from IND and JFK. CHQ also uses E145/E135s to and from FLA. If Delta wanted to use SkyWest CRJs in LGA, they would put them there. I am talking about CR7s that were going to ASA pilots, that now may go to SkyWest because of strike or pay issues. That is a whole different story.

And Halo, the judge has NOT taken away anything with scope or anyting else except pay---that we gave up (nothing taken away from us). We still have to negotiate, and the judge is staying out of that. We also got in writing that the company will give us credit for any pension dump (which is expected, unless they can pay the $10.6 billion). That is HUGE, since it will take up space (in the $325 million request for savings) that could be filled with giving up scope. Our 14% pay cut and then pension dump will fill most of that. Sounds like we will negotiate for the 79-100 seaters.

It's management's decision? WRONG. It is what we negotiate with them. Management CANNOT do what it pleases, they have to follow the contract. YOU ARE WRONG DUMBA$$. It is so fun being right, when you are really WRONG, all of the time. You look dumb.

Hello,Helloooo,
generalblofordough,
You are in CH11 and that gives them alot more power than your CBA can ever give. You are going to get what they want you to have, period, end of story, thankyou for playing. It wont be for up to 100 seats because ML is too expensive and you have no money.

You seem desperate and emotional, are you spotting?

Speaking of looking dumb what contract are you referring to? The one that may be shredded by the bankruptcy court or is there a hidden one somewhere that we don't know about?

Dave,

Did the 1113c process work? No. It was avoided in a TA---TA 50. We now have to negotiate, and at the same time we will now get credit---in writing via the TA---from the company on a pension dump that is upcoming. That credit, along with all of the credit that the judge stated we WILL get---for any changes in scope, code share, manning hours--etc (as stated by the judge directly)---will help. The DL lawyer stated "we need the full $325 million judge." So, with our 14% pay cut ($152 million a year in savings) plus the savings they will get from the pension dump (ALPA estimates that will be $180-220 million a year in savings)---looks like they may get the savings they NEED. Anything over that may not fly, and the judge was told many times "they need the full $325 million in savings." If the company decides to actually fund the pensions, the lump sums will start up again, and another 300-400 Captains will leave, and I will then hold 738 Captain in NYC---foggettaboutit....

At the same time, the yeilds are going way up on the East Coast, thanks to Indy Air leaving the area. Higher fuel will be offset by that, compared to what we were dealing with this last year---with $29 one way tickets from IAD to ATL.

So, nothing will be trashed. If they try, then the busy Summer season (our biggest season due to European flying) will be at jeopardy. That would be bad.

What has been changed so far CFIT? Besides another pay cut--14%----what else has been changed? Any fleet changes right now? Anything? Hello? They stated to the judge that they "needed the full $325 million a year in savings", and then allowed, through this TA we signed, to concede any savings we get from the pension plan going away. Can you see that yet? There may be some slight changes coming up, but we will be included---like negotating for the 79-100 seaters, and working on sick leave issues. We will still come up with some savings for the company. But, the majority has been accounted for.

So, come up with some good debate material, instead of mass-ter--bating material. You sound like a TARD and your highschool humor is funny only to you.

Ouch, generalsukfest takes another.....wonder where?

Just think, the individual that talks like this is flying your family around.
Doesn't that give you a warm fuzzy.

AA:erm:

CFIT and Dave are worried about their own situations. At least the General can back up his statements with something. CFIT has to resort to potty humor. CFIT lacks credibility and is losing his argument miserably.

CFIT you are a DORK!

And your screen name is a porn site, ouch.

It is? Oh wait, I just tried it. Very interesting. That is the type of stuff that CFIT woiuld love.

Mike's Apartment,

Thanks for the support. It is easy to debate CFIT when he doesn't know what he is talking about or can't support his assertions.
