PPO is the best with HMO a close second. No one wants to worry about what a hospital charges for an MRI. Do you really want to be calling physician offices to ask what they charge for this or that? My job is flying airplanes, not comparing doctors' incomes.

That's a large part of why health care costs are soaring. Why do we treat health expenses so differently than any other costs? Do you shop around for cable, phone, car repairs, home repairs, or car prices? What would happen if we just bought things without comparing prices?

Where does everyone think the money comes from to pay for these escalating health costs?

Point taken. But this isn't car repair, this is my health. If I can get in to the best specialist who coincidentally charges the most, that's where I'm gonna go!

This is what the government wants. Greedy, overpaid doctors resorting to competing with each other for your business. What kind of system is that??? Not a good one. If a talented doc knows his services are in demand, he's gonna charge for 'em and that's a good thing. Doctors should be left to charge what pays their overhead and lifestyle they have earned.

Here's the problem with Skywest and its employees: One of the idiots who works at headquarters posted on the company bulletin board that she will spend thousands more with the new plan, but "at least it will go towards my deductible."

What kind of stupid statement is that? With that kind of thinking, how does a group ever achieve anything?

Was the person posting on the bulletin board S.A.??

Everyone on this message board would be paid what they're worth and would be working for mainline...

Ummm...isn't that the "capitalism" that all the anti-health care reform folks are so hell bent on? So, in regard to health care, if "socialism" is bad and "capitalism" is bad...what would you prefer? "Authoritarianism"?

not to mention those of us that have to take prescription meds regularly..

you pay the agreed cost until you meet the ded then you pay 20%... for some meds thats about $500 per month initially.. vs about $75 per month.

it doesnt matter if you like it or not 2012 its all we will have.

of course by then it wont matter, doesnt the world grind to a halt in 2012..

In December, but only if you're Mayan...

"Cough, cough. Sorry I can't make my trip today. With the cost of our new and improved health coverage I really don't want to get anybody else sick. Can you take me off my next trip as well? I'm trying to ration my HSA money and can't afford my usual perscription which typically speeds up my recovery."
