The crew is not in trouble for hitting the jetway, the marsheller took them to the CRJ position instead of the EMB position, the crew did exactly as the were directed. The marsheller was an 8 year employee and was terminated. There were comments (fit for flight) made on the CVR that has the crew in question, before they left SAN.

Mr Prater, that makes no sense. Yes the marshaller was in la la land. but isn't the responsibility of not hitting something up to the pilots? Didn't they see the jetway as they pulled in?? It's a 23foot airplane.
