However, I'm just dissapointed we didn't get to ferry them anywhere, I was looking forward to flying it in a tshirt, shorts and flip-flops. Oh well.

Dude, what's stopping you? What are they gonna do - fire you ????

Attire

You think anyone would notice (right away) Chuck Tayor Allstars in black and white? That was always a fantasy of mine, going to work in those...

Yeah, that plane really only did a handful of things well, but one of them was to climb like a rocket powered bat out of hell.
Personal best was 4500 fpm off the runway and 8200 fpm enroute...
Any word on what Skyway's going to do with the ones they own? I heard from the guys at Myrtle Beach that they were selling refurbished 328 jets for 3-4 million a year or to back when I went to pick up one of ACA's planes from there. Can't touch a Citation CJ2 for that price... I am surprised it never made a bigger impact as a corporate aircraft.

On an empty leg out of CLE I made 10,000 in 1:36. Personal best for me. And the VSI pegs at 9900, or so I hear. ;-) We hadn't had the 328's very long at this point and CLE Departure came back and asked if that was normal for the 328. I said "Yeah pretty much." He replied, "That's pretty dang cool." It was a pretty good laugh. Great memories at SYX.

The only thing I never liked- the two-engine go around.

PF- Go around, max power, flaps 20
PNF- Uh, ASAP
PF- Huh?
PNF- Uh, we're at 5, we were cleared to 3, and that loud noise is us doing 220 with the flaps down.
PF- @#$%

I remember this from the SIM... the instructor laughed his a$$ off and said that everyone does it at least once...

Skyway

So,

For those that know me, you'll know it's 'really' me when I tell you right now I'm having my second 40 of Miller High Life in honor of Skyway Airlines. Anything interesting go down today? Shower from Crash/Fire/Rescue? Formal apology for screwing all of Skyway by that cockbag Hoeksema?

I, too, had to raise my farewell toast at a remote location. MKE today just wasn't in the cards. I have only been gone a couple of weeks and really miss the crew and all the great folks at ESC, MBL, IWD -- everybody. What a great bunch of folk!

Yes, farewell to Skyway and best of luck to everyone looking for a new job now. I did 5+ years there and just got out last fall.

The way Hoeksema & co set that perfectly good little airline up to fail over the last few years was one of the sh!ttiest things I've ever witnessed in this sh!tty business. Makes my stomach turn.

Skyway guys, keep your chins up, we hope for the best for yall. This industry sucks. Best of luck. Off topic... Mesa still sucks.

Yesterday was a good ending for Skyway. 328 got a water cannon salute on the last flight but the Beech did not. CFR actually had to respond to something on the field so they were a no show for the Beech. They had a ceremony at D52 and there were alot of people there. Hoeksema of course didn't have the balls to show his face but Reeve was there. He looked like a walking corpse but then again, he always does.
Banquet last night was very nice and tons of people showed up. It was great to see everybody for the last time. Skyway certainly went out with a bang last night.

Wow, last night was a blast! I'm typing now, because I still don't have a voice. I think Miller needed to call in extra workers today to make up for how much we drank. :D Jerky, thanks for tippin back a 40 for all of us, we missed ya last night! My camera is full of pictures from the best group of coworkers I could have ever imagined! Thanks for the memories everyone, it's been a pleasure!

That's par for the course. TH only muttered the word "Skyway" when he needed to explain a loss. DR was just nervous wondering if somebody was going to use him as a chock.

I wonder if TH is going to ask Skywest to buy the Skybus 319s?

Jerky, Sync, Vedepo,Tuna and other former SYXers,
KD called to let me know but I was stuck on a trip on the west coast and couldn't get there. Ran into Shilobrit in SFO and told him to tell the everyone high from "da bear". Miss the great times flying both the 1900 and the 328 with all of you.

Good Luck and pm if anyone needs a hand

Don't ever lend you hand to Tuna, ever. Just ask Jerky.

Somebody should have buzzed Hoeksema's happy little home up there on Lake Michigan. God that guy makes me sick. Tipped one myself on Sat. for all the current and ex Skyway guys and gals. I had a blast when I was there from 98-01, good luck to everyone.

A sad day indeed, sadder still that it didn't have to end this way. Waaaay fitting that the last flight was a 1900. I guess they finally made good on the promise to get rid of the Beech. Good luck all!

I just want to wish everyone good luck in the future! It was really sad hearing the last DoJet land that afternoon.

Hey- just so you guys know, MJS reporter Tom Daykin has been on your side from day one. A bit too busy to post it, but he wrote the article today about Midwest furloughs and put a little bit of burn (in my eyes) on Midwest in the last couple of paragraphs.

I think it may have something to do with our family luck as well ;)

Jerky I agree, a "flyby" would be nice. However, I'm just dissapointed we didn't get to ferry them anywhere, I was looking forward to flying it in a tshirt, shorts and flip-flops. Oh well.

While I was on RSV I got called for a test flight. It was me an F.O. and a mechanic, and all they wanted us to do is fly the thing up 10K and balls to the wall.
I was in jeans and a tshirt, flew the same.

Great memories at SYX.[/quote]
Hey,

I haven't moved so you can send my invitation to the house. She sent me an Xmas card, so she sould have my address. Now if you lost it that's another story. Call me if you can't find my address.

I can't believe that Skyway is gone.
It felt wired coming back to MKE and I really do miss it there. I just flet like I was back home after leaving for so long. There where a lot of faces there at the party it was great to see everyone. I'm sorry that you missed it.
