Any new rumors on this wild idea? I heard from buddy at Skyway they have a new hire class in March with 20 folks going to the FRJ.

For a company that operates 15 Beech 1990D's and 10 FRJ's, that seems like a whole lot of FRJ FO's starting into the pipeline.

I am attending that class and the I heard it was 50/50 from the Director Of Training. BUt that could all change in the blink of an eye.

FurloughedAgain,

That's right, and welcome to CVG. How many flights initally?

I've been saying for a while now, especially if DAL wants Comair to fly the DoJet, that within a year or two CHQ will be flying a lot more out of CVG. It just goes with the strategy of dividing the hubs.

If the company starts giving you 3 hours productivity breaks like we get in ATL, come over to the trailers and make yourself at home. the least we can do is be as accomodating as ASA has been for us...

If there are any Skyway DoJet FOs lurking, I'd really appreciate some details on the company and contract, especially pay, days off, etc.

You can get most of this info off the ALPA website. After you log in, on the column on the left side of the page is a a link entitled "RESEARCH CENTER". Click on it and it will take you to their contract.

For all the rumor mongers...

I'm going to try and dish out some facts here..

1.) Delta must give ACA 180 days notice before it cancels the contract and assumes the leases. As of yesterday, ACA Sr. Mgmt has said that no such notice has yet been given. It does not take 6 months to train an FRJ pilot so the rumors of the big new Skyway class are probably unfounded.

2.) ACA pays Pratt by a Power by the hour program for the engines, a deal that was etched long before these issues arose. Should another carrier acquire the Dojets, that agreement would be null and void and Pratt would retain the right to renegotiate a new deal (probably at a much higher rate, thus driving the operating costs of the FRJ through the roof) - not practical.

3.) ACA can wet-lease a/c and crews to another operator for a time period. Not too sure on the specifics of this but I was told this is possible and may be a likely scenario.

4.) No one knows what is going on behind closed doors. The truth of the matter is a very small percentage of rumors (esp those discussed on this board) ever come true so relax, quit wasting your time and energy speculating and trying to act like you know everything, and let it all play out.

CaptainV,

I dont work for Chautauqua anymore.

I was there back in 95/96 when the biggest thing on the property was a Saab and if someone had told me they were going to buy regional-jets I would've thought they were high.

where's the fun in that?

this site is democracy in action. lots of heated debate, facts/lies/innuendo spun to suit the viewpoint of the author, some posts exhibit seasoned intellect, some quickly degenerate into a flurry of childish taunts. most just criticize those with opposing viewpoints simply because they don't agree, never mind the merits of their arguements.

it's like being a member of Congress or something.

besides, if we took your advice, this site would have, what, like 5 posts a month?
