The rumor I heard was DAL made an offer, SKYW examined it and said its not enough $$$$$ and they're still open to a DAL offer. Doesn't make sense to me, why would they buy a company who's flying is almost 75% for UAL

Unless Delta offesr LASA as a buy. Then staple us and we are all on one list. New hires go to the RJ until they can move up the chain of larger aircraft. No more middle management, BH, CT, etc...Then they can buy 100 seat aircraft to make tons of money. But this seems to easy and logical.

Yeah and you can merge with endeavor in the process

There will NEVER be a meaningful flow to DAL or a staple. NEVER. To think otherwise is a pure pipe dream and is completely delusional in every way. Complete fantasy. If you want a job at DAL- interview there!
Ding, someone gets it. Why would DAL do anything except require everyone to interview after all their current pilots bid for the captains seats. This will be an extension of the regional cornholing, reset every F/O back to first year pay, anything else would not make sense.

True. At best it would be an Endeavor type deal. BTW, if DAL wants to spend money to steal feed and lock in pilots, they should look at Eagle also.

Also don't forget if this happened there would be no more 50 seat "contract" with Delta. They would own us and all our assets, and would immediately park almost every 200 we have.

Hulas doesn't have the money for ExpressJet. Even if Hulas bought (or was given) ExpressJet, one list would be VERY unlikely. Nevets, rolling everyone into one airline at Trans States Holdings would not be an instant fix for anything. That scumbag helped write the book on union wrangling tactics, along with Ornstein. That just has "Bad Deal" written all over it.

Like I said, it's a big if. And I would only be open to it IF it was part of the deal. Which pretty much means I'm not for it since he would probably never go for that. But, yes, if they put all the pilots on one list, I would be open to fighting any wrangling tactics because I believe that would be the lesser of being whipsawed by your own CEO.

Call me an idealist but I'm honest to my own convictions and don't just do what is solely best for myself. I tend to look at big picture and look at the long view.

Thats a very nice testimony you've written for yourself there. Is that in your cover letter somewhere?

What a disrespectful piece of crap you are. How about offering something useful on this topic. Go back to Facebook, ding dong. I'm sure sure you have many "friends" there.

Delta is taking control of their regional feed by operating more DC-9, MD-80/90, and soon 717's to those markets once served by RJs. It is clear that Delta is working towards eliminating/reducing RJ service as much as possible.

There is no need for Delta to "take control of a bunch of pilots for the shortage" because Delta will never have a pilot shortage. Delta will always have the option to hire pilots of their choosing - in the past, that hiring order has proven to exhibit the following:

1. military pilots
2. female/minority pilots
3. regional jet pilots

While I don't agree with that order, it is the reality we live in. A pilot should be hired based on his/her piloting skills, airmanship, and professionalism - not their ethnicity or gender.

Which brings me to my next point: Delta will never buy ASA/XJT because that purchase would bring with it some of our "misfit" pilots, whose sole purpose in life seem to only exist to stir up trouble, i.e. The White Dragon, The Palm, etc.

These rumors of Delta looking to purchase ASA/XJT reminds me of the wishful talk that Pinnacle (Endeavor) pilots spoke of before voting themselves into that rotten deal. There is a high probability that Endeavor will soon face the same challenges that Comair once did, and we all know how that ended. I certainly hope the pilot group at ASA/XJT don't go down that same path.

Anyone know when the White Dragon will retire finally? She appeared to be about 75 a few years ago.

I'll bet she gets a quadruple water cannon they'll be so happy.

Believe it or not she's only been here 15yrs. (DOH 08/03/1998) She's number 270 according to the July 2013 list. I think we may have a little ways to go before she retires.
