Actually the serial number is located on the data plate on the bottom of A/C behind the cargo door. Look at that little plate near the tail skid - can't remember the technical term

The number on the front of the aircraft is not the serial number.

With exception of the repaints into the new Delta livery and the Midwest birds, SkyWest has a a/c serial/cert. number on the nose in addition to the tail number in back as can be seen here on N719SK.
