what is next? airing every cvr on the next episode of jerry springer? maybe next time everyone has a right to listen in on everyone elses phone conversations? next time maybe the lawyers can ask to have a parade down main street with mutilated bodies in glass coffins. maybe the AMA should have all their phones tapped and played for the public on demand.

do those scenarios sound silly? so do yours.

.
The only reason there's mutilitated bodies is because no one in the industry thought that flimsy cockpit doors were ever going to be problem.

Which is kind of kind of funny, considering the attempted hijacking of an airliner in DC for the purpose of crashing it into the White House to assasinate then President Nixon, resulting in the deaths of the flight crew. The cockpit takeover and suicide crash of the PSA BAC 146, resulting in the deaths of all aboard and the Fed Ex hijacking attempt with intent to crash the plane into the corporate headquarters.

If you wanted to fling dead bodies on public display, you should have done it on or before 9/10/2001.

Betcher azz there is. Maybe if you actually read an ALPA motion, you would see:

It goes on a even greater length...
Maybe if you just presented it, I would have read it. How the hell would I get an ALPA motion?

there's no reason to fling dead bodies on public display.. just like there's no reason for GM to make a motion for it to be illegal to buy toyotas. what all these scenarios have in common is that they have nothing in common with the CVR case, a squared and hold west's posts give the reasons why.

not familliar with this one. the other two I know about.

Just thought I'd point out that he ALPA motion is a different situation. It's germane to your thread, but it's from 2002 and the intent was to keep the Gannett news organization from getting it's grubby paws on a CVR. the bit you posted, is a protest from APA (different union) , protesting the use of the CVR to manipulate the jury's emotions in, rather than to present facts. Is your excerpt a current even, or is it something you dredged out of an archive someplace?

There ya go...

The assassination attempt

In early 1974, Byck made his decision to assassinate Nixon. He planned to do so by hijacking an airliner and crashing it into the White House on a day when Nixon would be there.

Since Byck was already known to the Secret Service, and because legal attempts to purchase a firearm might have resulted in increased scrutiny, Byck stole a .22 caliber revolver from a friend of his to use in the hijacking.

Byck also made a bomb out of 2 gallon jugs of gasoline and an igniter. All through this process, Byck made audio recordings explaining his motives and his plans; he expected to be considered a hero for his actions, and wanted to fully document his reasons for the assassination.

On February 22, 1974, Byck drove to the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. He shot and killed Maryland Aviation Administration Police Officer George Neal Ramsburg before storming aboard a DC-9, Delta Air Lines Flight 523 to Atlanta, which he chose because it was the closest flight that was ready to take off. After pilots Reese Lofton and Fred Jones told him they could not take off until wheel blocks were removed, he shot them both, and grabbed a nearby passenger, ordering her to "fly the plane".

After a standoff with police, Charles Troyer, an Anne Arundel County officer, on the jetway fired four shots through the door of the aircraft with a .357 Magnum revolver taken from Ramsburg's body. Two of the shots, which managed to penetrate the thick window of the aircraft door, hit Byck and wounded him. Before the police could gain entry to the aircraft, Byck committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.

According to a special on the History Channel, he lived for a few minutes after shooting himself, finally dying after saying "help me" to one of the police officers who entered the plane after he had been shot. A briefcase containing the gasoline bomb was found under his body. The plane never left the gate, and Nixon's schedule was not affected by the assassination attempt.

Maybe you were to young to remember or weren't born yet, when Harley Davidson pi$$ed and moaned to congress about the jap bike competition killing them, so they got a tarrif put on bikes a certain CC displacement or larger.

I guess harley figured there was no "legitimate purpose" for a citizen to own a 750 Honda Shadow, so Honda shortened the stroke of the engines and if you wanted a Shadow you bought a 699 CC or 700 CC shadow. Whatever the tariff said.

And Satpak77, the reason congress had the authority to do so, was because they have that authority to ReGuLAte import export.

repost...sorry. Don't they have a delete key anymore?
