I found their ad on Climbto350.com today. What a bunch of arsewipes. These jokers want some poor F/O candidate to travel to California at his or her own expense for an interview, then pay for their own training, and then pay for their own relocation to ELP? But wait boys and girls, there's more; they will then pay you a bank-busting salary of $1,000 per month!!! So, by the end of the first year, you will have filed Chapter 7 because you cannot pay off the move to ELP, let alone your training. Please tell me that no turbine-hungry pilot will fall for this rape job. If so, I know this guy in downtown Atlanta that will be your personal butt pirate for a much lower fee (he was my co-pilot until I found out he was a turd burglar) .

When will our industry wake up and put these guys out of business?

Sorry for the rant, it's been a bad day.

I just checked out their ad. Obviously these folk only do HIGH END type charters......Not. Oh BTW, you're wrong about the $1,000 per mo. That's for Metro F/Os. The Lear F/O makes a whopping $1,500 per mo. Hey, that's 50% more than anyone else at that level in the company is making.....

There are not many opportunities for Lear PIC at 2000 hours, even with "some jet experience."

A 2000 hour PIC, with some jet experience, and a 1000 hour SIC- it should be hilarious, as long as nobody gets hurt.

Insurance

I'll bet they heavily insure the crap out of the airplanes just hoping that their "experienced" aircrew winds up in a ball of aluminum. (Oh, we told them not to go!" Buy another junker, put some money in the pocket and run the ad again.

Air ambulance scum!!

Oh jeez,

I almost missed this. RE: Lear PIC requirments. 2000 hours total time with some jet experience. "We will consider lowering our requirements for the right person."

In 2000 I was paid $3000 per month for SIC in Lear 25/35. They are offering the same pay?!! For PIC?!! And half that for SIC.

Come on everybody. Pull up the ad and slam these Fokkers.

A$$hole of 350.com Award, winner!!

How in the he!! do they expect an F/O to make it to ELP? Most of us would be broke before ABQ. These SOB's need to be shut down now. I think an anonymous call to their FSDO office is in order. Companies like this ALWAYS cut corners somewhere, without fail. It's just a matter of bringing it to the Fed's attention and pointing them in the right direction.

There is no reg requiring companies to pay a living wage. If you go to work for a company paying crap wages, its your own dam fault. What is worst is a company that promises good wages and then the paychecks dribble to and from the bank. If they show up at all.

Dudes,

Do not go anywhere near those ass clowns. I've flown with that operation and it is SHADY!!! Shady, like picking up cargo from Mexico in black plastic trash bags. I wonder what's inside? Shady like making a metro pilot sleep at the airport in mexico for 3 days until they felt like sending a mechanic down there to fix a poorly maintained plane. Oh yeah, and that's $1000 BEFORE TAXES. You seriously should see the apartments these guys had to live in. I'd rather take a bath with my toaster than work there.

Why don't a couple of us get hired there, and when they send us to Mexico, hire some scumbag lawyer and a Mexican Official or two and send them a letter saying that they will need to cough up $100K to get their plane back. When they send the dough, commercial home after selling the hull for parts to Pedro.

Then make sure to follow up with a call asking them how it feels to get it with no vaseline...

Hell, I'll bet Uncle Sugar in South America somewhere would pay more than 100K just to have us walk away from the plane in Mexico for a coffee break.

"Uh, sorry boss, we just went for some java and when we got back to de plane, it wuz v1, vr, and dat was all we seen of dem. We tink it wuz headed south, boss. But we ain't sure. Say, do any o you hombres remember da name o dat one bank in the Caymans.":D

I know they fly/flew their Metros single pilot form ELP to YYZ, and then come back empty.
That's a good 12 hours FLYING time, not duty!!!

When I flew Metros for another upstanding adhoc, I refused to do those single pilot odysees!

The Sierra West guys that I knew didn't have the cahones to stand up for themselves.

Oh-and then there are those dudes that wear an airline uniform with wings and epaulets and all, and top it of with.....cargopants!

Where's Joan Rivers when you need her......?

ACT 700 - I've flown for these guys.... no better no worse than a lot of outfits out there .... talking about "kahones".... how would you know ??? Looking at your profile you are not even typed in the beast aka SA227..... so before you talk about kahones.... being a little chihuahua nipping and yipping doesnt gain you any respect there son.... remember life is about having a work ethic,, working hard and doing what is right.... in my time there I was nver asked to do anything that is vaguely considered improper..... as far as the pay .. yes it is below industry standard, Also the douche bag DO who geared up the lear is a tool, SO F@#king what ???? Dont knock the pilots that flew there and paid their dues..... I can tell you of many flying from Captain in an American 777 to others flying GIV or V's in the corporate environment. As far as the pilots I flew with ... NEVER will I have anything bad to say about them... neither will any other pilots who have flown for this outfiit.

This does not excuse:
Below industry wages OR work environment.... but remember people do what they need to to survive.....

In conclusion.... learn to live and more importantly live to learn... bitterness and bitching and innuendos only bring down your stock.... so rise above and help your fellow pilots ... not trash talk.

PS>

FEDEX... have crashed more than one plane, so has American, United etc, etc... that means nothing.... mistakes happen and WILL happen... grow up and be objective not just a harping ninny.....

Hey, Vikaero,

I'm not knocking anybody,

but ELP-YYZ-ELP rountrip single pilot + no autopilot = NOT SAFE. I don't care who you are, or who you fly for-good or bad.

Also, you don't need to be typed to be PIC in the Metro (i.e. II).

I know a couple of you guys, you included, and we all were in the same boat-you guys had your politics/crap to deal with, we had ours.

But I never, ever accepted to do those marathons; and believe me, our $hit a$$ company pushed us all the time.
I still don't know what Part they were getting our rest times from?! Apparently all the rest we needed was 6 hours!!!

So don't take it personal, but as long as pilots accept less than standard situations (flying wise or PFT, etc...); it doesn't help the rest of us.

Good luck on the West Coast,...

It is a sad thing. Its a game of follow the leader off the end of the pier. This company didn't used to do this. Yes you had to get there on your own dime, but in the interview you flew the metro. Then if you got hired they trained and types you in the metro, but you had to move yourself to ELP, not too bad a deal. However if everybody else is doing why can't we must be what they are thinking.

How are things at Sierra West now?
