Judging from my experience with their staff there, it isn't a job for most normal, intelligent, well trained people, either.
BB is only good if you know EXACTLY what you want, and I mean exactly, right down to the manufacturers part number, and even then if you don't have the patience to order it from the web. Asking anyone at BB for help with selection is....well, simile fails me...its like asking someone who knows absolutely nothing about what they are selling for advice.
There is a local chain of audio/video stores in town here...they actually have a clue, and I am more than willing to pay their %15 or so premimum for intelligent staff. They can actually tell you what equipment plays well with others, and their advice sometimes actually turns out to be correct.
Of course, this is all my opinion, I could be, and am frequently, completely wrong...
