If you have taken a 135 checkride, and the company want's two pilots on an aircraft. All of that time can be logged as SIC reguardless of what it is certified for.

I think that time looks better than 600 of duel in a 172. How many times have you flown with a new FO who had no clue how the IFR system works in the real word? How does teaching slow flight, or even primary instrument students help someone make solid choices when it comes to Ice, T-storms, and any other situation impossible to recreate in a 172. Plus if you fly any legs empty/part 91, any time that you are flying, you can log it as PIC.

However you should get paid.. 100-200 a day is average I think.

See you don't even make sense. You say that we hurt the industry by taking low PAYING jobs, yet YOU are PAYING to work! You might want to review PART 61.51:

(f) Logging second-in-command flight time. A person may log second-in-command time only for that flight time during which that person:

(1) Is qualified in accordance with the second-in-command requirements of §61.55 of this part, and occupies a crewmember station in an aircraft that requires more than one pilot by the aircraft's type certificate; or

(2) Holds the appropriate category, class, and instrument rating (if an instrument rating is required for the flight) for the aircraft being flown, and more than one pilot is required under the type certification of the aircraft or the regulations under which the flight is being conducted.

D'oh! So keep telling us how MANY pilots are required on the aircraft you PFT'd.

You are quoting part 61, when the issue is Part 135 operations.
There are ways when the Operation can require or is permitted to use an SIC.

Its been explained many a time on here.

Which is the catch 22 here...

If the SIC is required or permitted, then a qualified pilot should be in the right seat.

If the SIC is not required or permitted and the SIC pilot is PFT, then they're wasting their money and logging bogus time.

Either way it's a lose-lose situation.

Yes I am, but re-read part 61...

So part 61 makes exceptions for other parts.

(Chuck Norris is always a required crew member, if not he'll roundhouse kick the FARs until it says he is. ;) .)
