Don't forget CHQ's little 2 year seatlock deal, either.

Most likely a little of both, papa...

JMHO, As for the memory items, people are excited, first really potential positive thing to ALMOST happen to us in years. Let them play around and enjoy!

The only memory item you guys need is the Reserve section of our contract....

Nothing quite so fun as stirring the pot, eh Starchecker?

Dude, that's a great attitude. With the growth that we ALL get to participate in when SA is merged/ratio'ed, the word "reserve" for all current CHQ and SA drivers will not exist in our vocabulary for very long.
Be aware, A majority of SA's list has DOH's older then June '02...........where will you fall.

With all the growth WE? The SA guys will get a great deal out of this regardless of where they are placed. Even with a staple they get a better deal then their current. CHQ guys get nothing but status quo. There isnt any additional flying with this. The company maybe saving some money on some fines, but the pilots wages wouldnt have been affected. Its the company that couldnt get RP up and running, not the CHQ pilots. CHQ has growth on the table even before this. SA had what...2 years left to live? Why should the aquiring airline get the worse end of a deal? Thats unheard of.

KingAirer, I totally agree with you. The SA pilot group has the obvious and immediate benefit of being absorbed into the CHQ list.
The rapid growth that RAH is seeking is in the large smalljet (E170/E190) market. This growth is now inhibited by APA scope issues with the STL AA code share. RAH needs the SA cert to place the large smalljets on so as to "tapdance" around the APA. Now with an unlimited number of large smalljets operating under SA flown by CHQ pilots means an insane amount of growth without incurring court enforced fines paid by CHQ to the APA and/or AA.

Long story short....SA pilots benefit now because RAH needs the certificate. All pilots flying for the RAH system (CHQ pilots) benefit in the long run due to the unlimited growth potential.

SA has numerous former CHQ drivers that went over to the SA side after being "fired" but were denied the option of going back to CHQ (DOH's early 01). Not only were they denied the option for recall, but all SA drivers were denied the oppotunity interview and compete for new jobs a CHQ. SA guys have been flying undercover for CHQ for 3.75 years but have not reaped anything from it. CHQ has been paying all the bills behind the scenes from the beginning. SA has been a "division" of CHQ for a long time. This was going to happen eventually......................SA hopes!!!!!!!

I understand the tapdance that CHQ management has to do with the fines. However, Keep in mind that RP should have already been up, but will be up in teh near future. So SA is a quick fix. CHQ would be getting this increased growth regardless of SA aquisition. Without the SA aquisition where would they be?
