I wasn't there, and as far as I know the information presented in this forum is hearsay. However, from an operational standpoint, it appears that one fundamental error was made, which snowballed into the overun. First of all, this was a non-precision approach and as such LOC-only minimums are controlling. Secondly, if a charted VDP (If none was depicted, than a VDP should have been calculated and briefed) was depicted it should have been used as the MAP. This allows a stablized approach profile from the MDA to the touchdown zone. Finally, if indeed the Captain felt it in his gut that he needed to go-around...Unfortunately, the buck stops with him and he made what appears to be a lapse in command and judgement.
