LGB to NTD

It is for military, but at 5am. Since military is exempt from LGB quiet hours, (airport wasn't even open) we launched northerly out of LGB and flew right over most of LA at 2000' in a non hush kit DC-9, at SOCAL's request. I was expecting a turn out over the water, but with no traffic to speak of, they just vectored us right over the city, just east of LAX. I couldn't guess as to the number of noise complaints that must have initiated at 0530 in the morning.
