Know quite a few army aviators, more to it.
He obviously has strong opinions (sounds like an anti-military liberal) and doesn't understand that while the FAA only wants 3 in 90, the military has a lot more for currency. My aircraft in the reserves requires 4 local proficiency sorties every six months (go up and fly approaches) and 4 overseas missions every six months... not to mention sims and all the ground requirements (shots, etc). And I'm a reservist, no idea what the active duty and some other aircraft require, but I know it's more then I have to do!
