If an airline hires say 40 people at once how do they delegate a seniority number if they got on at the same time as everyone else?

age at my last 2 airlines. Final test score at my first (Flight Express)

They used to all use date of birth. Then somebody sued for age discrimination and won. I think it was United that was sued. Some of the airlines changed it to last four digits of ss# after that.

At sky way we picked are names out of a hat first one pulled gets the best seniority and so on. It was only a class of 12 though.
