Doogie is getting all kinds of attention now isn't he... Too bad it's of the negative sort. Oh well he brought this on himself.

I agree, it's going to be hard for him to poor mouth labor at LCC, when he seems to be able to come up with billions when it suits him.

At least it got Doug to admit AWA acquired US Airways and stopped a liquidation. Unfortunately there is no way the US Air pilots will see their pensions reinstated by the new US Airways. That was part of the agreement with the financing for the deal. Sad, but true.

Not necessarily.

While I don't think it will happen either (probably a thinly veiled threat to go away and leave DAL alone), there's nothing the new creditors could do to stop it (this isn't UAir trying to violate their lending agreement, it's the Feds talking about FORCING them).

The PBGC and the Federal Government have the right, IF they can prove UAir can financially afford it, to FORCE UAir to take their Pension obligations back.

Kind of like the IRS deciding you owe back-taxes. Not much you can do about it once they win the audit; you're screwed.

Gotta love the near-limitless power of the Federal Government.

True. The government could stick us all on ships out at sea and give the country back to the Native Americans too. Just not gonna happen.

Mr XRMEFLYER, just because you have a different political view in a democracy does not make one a communist. Grow up and respect the political system we have. It is what makes this country so great. Oh by the way I served in the military at the end of the cold war, and Senator Kennedy and Senator Clinton aren't communist, just Americans with their own Ideas on how to make our country better. Some may differ on their political views, but they are still Americans, serving our country!

Of course, they are Not 'communists.' Everyone clearly knows that both of them are "Socialists" :)
