Saying "with you" to Center

Jeff: Thank you for the reply and the online reference. I will add that to my favorites.

It is easy to see where somebody could get the idea to use the word vacating since it is right there in the description, but I'm glad to see that the proper terms are level, descending to or climbing to.

Now, if I could only get into a window seat they might allow me to use the radio (with ATC) again!

Me: Washington Center Cessna blah, blah five miles south of FKN at 2500 request flight following to PVG.
Center: What is your type of aircraft?
CFI to Me:172/A
ME: Type A
Center: What’s Type A?
CFI Yelling at ME: 172/A
Airliner talking to center: you deal with type A's all the time though right.

I hear a lot of people say "roger" in response to an "affirmative" or "negative" response question.

The only time I heard a real problem with that was when a busy ATC was looking for a "yes, I understand and I will do that" (Wilco) and kept getting a "I understood you" (Roger).
