G-Spot

Alright, I refuse to get back into the mud w/ G-Spot, and I've written enough about SATS that I'm not going to repeat myself---do a search and see what you think. BUT... It's not PFT! There IS a contract, but there is not up-front $$, so it's NOT PFT! Period. End of story. I'm done with responding to stupid stuff---read previous posts and make up your own minds. Roger, Wilco.

G-Spot! I love it! You've been "Spotted", G-force! LMFAO!!!

i noticed they wear blue shirts with button down collars.

any spin out there as to whether they wanted to visually be associated albeit subconsciuosly with JetBlue?

G-Spot has been fired from every aviation job he's ever had (literally) and he's one of those "It's not me .. it's them!" kinda' guys. Ignore him.

Another Know-it-all,Kool-aid drinker. This type of individual will bust your a$$ everytime!!!

Who wants to trust them????????

Little bit of an update cuz I've received a few PMs and don't want there to be any confusion. Although I started this thread way back when, I'm no longer with SATSair---I've taken a job flying medevac helicopters which is something I've wanted to do for years and is even more fun than flying the Cirrus! There has been a lot of publicity coming out of NBAA and so on about SATS buying a bunch more planes and expanding into FLorida aggressively. I would advise anyone looking for employment to check out the website and give them a call. I'm not too current with any of the details, but the last I heard the training contract is a dead issue, they have a salary range that puts you over $35K your second year, you have health care benefits and they're getting ready to open up a 401(K), albeit without a company match for the first year or so---as a former stockbroker, allow me to tell you the chance to put money away pre-tax is the biggest benefit you get so it's still s good deal. Pilots I talk to still seem happy, things are evening out now that they're getting close to 3 years of business, and the customers keep signing up.

I have to agree with G-Spot on one thing---make up your own mind! It's not a perfect company but I defy you to show me one that is. They try hard, they have honest, decent management and when I left I left friends only because I had worked long and hard to get back into helos. If you listen too hard to me, him or anyone else then you deserve what you get---investigate, call and talk to them and above all trust your gut! Just don't look at it as a time-building company cuz they will NOT accept that type of thinking---you want to fly shiny jets then go call Pinnacle instead and enjoy eating your ramen noodles for the next 3 years. Good luck!

Even I had the opportunity to fly one of these this week and what a nice little aircraft. I don't fly much anymore but had no trouble with it once I learned that we had no nose wheel steering but a castoring wheel.
The side stick was great and the avionics better than the Garmin.
As a really big guy, ease of entry and comfort both front and back was terrific. Much better comfort and visibility than the Columbia I flew a few months back. Seemed very responive in roll and good appointments. Should do OK when they open in Florida with all the airports. Did 153 TAS in the small engine HP one in a smoothe cruise at 5500.

Nice read there skip. I had never seen this thread. I'm only an hour or less from GMU. Seeing as how I'm still a little clueless on which direction I'll ultimately end up going in aviation, I actually don't fall into the "only here to build time" category. But I think it might be safe to assume that pretty much every pilot is trying to build time on some level or another. It seems that a training contract OR increased minimums is mandatory for SATs to get any real longevity out of their pilots. Then again, if they're constantly hurting for pilots go figure. I think if this company could somehow incorporate the ability to supply thier pilots with an ATP rating then they could become golden. All they'd have to do is have access to a multi-engine and then they could brag to their clients that all their pilots are Airline Transport Pilot rated. You know, SATs has boosted sales of the Cirrus aircraft by demonstrating to the client/passengers. Why doesn't Diamond jump in with their DA multi. It can run on diesel fuel for low overhead and probably impress the clientel as well as the SR22 has. Then the pilots have access to something that the industry and insurance deems mandatory. Every company should have some sort of upgrade.

Aaaaanyway, I'm getting a little creative there.

Does or would SATs ever supply that kind of training? Is there anymore info regarding their VLJ interest? I hear all this news about Honda's jet over in Greensboro. It seems like Japan's recently famed engineer residing in Greensboro would be paying attention to such an operation in his neck of the woods.

It has already happened - check out Point2Point Airways in sunny North Dakota (http://www.flyp2p.com/). They already operate Cirrus and soon DA42 aircraft and will supposedly operate D-Jet VLJs in the future as well. Similar model to Satsair - just not as hospitable in terms of climate.... Perhaps they are hiring - check the website.

Won't happen now. They just suspended operations this week.
