Any of you guys that Knew Karl, happen to have ever met his wife?

Any speculation about the possible motive for who ever did this? His wife might know what happened? She could be the perp (or part of the plan, the spouse is always the one who does it) On the other hand, she could be another victim, not yet found...

Hope this gets updated as events unfold.

Just had his probation check ride a couple of weeks ago. More importantly he had three kids from his first marriage.

I wouldn't convict the woman yet though.

...While the services were going on, investigators continued to search for Hoerig’s wife, Claudia Christine Hoerig. The quest for the 42-year-old native of Brazil may be harder now, as investigators believe she may be in Brazil.

‘‘It’s believed that she left the country,’’ said Sgt. Pete Pizzulo of the Trumbull County Homicide Task Force. ‘‘There is evidence to support that.’’

Pizzulo added that investigators are researching extradition, should she be in another country.

Hoerig and Claudia Christine met over an Internet dating Web site before marrying about two years ago. Police reports indicate some trouble in the marriage, including an incident reported February in which Hoerig told officers his wife took an unknown poison before leaving in her car. Hoerig told officers he had been having marital problems.

Pizzulo said the couple’s 2000 BMW 325i was found parked at the Pittsburgh International Airport last week. Since Hoerig also was a pilot with Southwest Airlines, a domestic flight provider, Claudia Christine would have privileges for free flights if a seat was available...

There is something of a cottage industry in Brazil. Hot chiquita finds lonely gringo via the internet. Comes to America and marries the poor schmuck. Drains the bank account and returns home with the loot. Saw a story a few months back about a poor schmuck who went to Brazil with the chiquita. He wakes up dead and she makes off with nearly 7 figures. Usually the gringo just ends up broke and lonely again.

Watch for the investigation to reveal that this poor guy's cash is gone and not only have the kids lost their father, they've lost their inheritance too.
