Reality 101

There are dark clouds gathering over the PIT crew room these days. Why? because we voted down a TA for a 10/5 % pay cut? Lets think about this objectivley.

Get your calculators out folks.

Shuttle America has 120 pilots (conservative #). 60 Capt's 60 FO's for arguments sake.

Capt's get paid an average of $47.04 per Hr.

FO's get paid an average of $23.00 per Hr.

Minimum pay is 72 Hrs.

You still with me?

Total Capt. salary for the month of September should be $203,212.80

Total FO salary for the month of September should be $99,360.00

10% of Capt. pay equals $20,321.28

5% of FO pay equals a whopping $4,968.00

For a grand total of $25,289.28

If Shuttle America has been brought to its knees over $25,289 and change then yes SA should be put out of its misery.

Just my .28¢

Errr... Did you really need to post this under two threads, godsgift?

You can read my response to this the FIRST time I read it on "SA Ruomors" or however it's spelled.

And now for the important math

1. everybody RUN to FWA for your new ID badge

2. finish newhire IOE, sim training, and still holding interviews????

3. mildly attempting to "properly" staff a company that's supposedly going out of business in a month and hasn't been properly staffed for over a year

4. no furloughs (knock on wood) or training freeze

1+2+3+4= doesn't add up

what?? are they all of a sudden preparing to go out in style

BTW.....I never was very good at math:D

Chautauqua Pilot

just spoke to a chq pilot about absorbing us in their seniority.

his comment/ opinnion: "bottom list"

is that way on the bottom or he was just joking?....hmmmm

..i kinda figure we are only less than 100 pilots...probably less by the end of the month and more less on OCT. ..can't get DOH?

i guess we are the step child after all.....

just a long shot in a worst case scenario.......mesa /ccair/ freedom scenario

.2cents

I hear the memo has been sent by Scott and it gives us till Oct. 27th. Does anyone have a copy yet.

27OCT

I have been away for a weekend, but this is what was posted in the crew BB by someone who hopefully knows more than the average shmoe in the corporate intranet, after a question was posted about 10/27...

Many things are happening at the present time, as always, rumors abound. Some of these rumors are based in fact and some are complete speculation. A memo was supposed to be sent out late yesterday or today detailing the position the company is in. Unfortunately, this memo has been delayed as talks are still going on between some of the parties involved. At this point, unfortunately, no news is good news. Please try and remain focused on the most important task at hand, flying the aircraft safely.

WELL ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS F**** WEXFORD....We have all worked hard for them...and what do we get...and not the pilots...but everyone else....WHO HAD NO CHOICE IN TAKING A PAYCUT...Now will CHQ or Republic hire any of us...NO...because we work for SA...and there is some sort of clause....B*******...so now I am off to ACA...and f**** you WEXFORD

Off to ACA? To work ramp?
Currently, ACA has 86 pilots on furlough and approximately
350 in the pool. And, they are going to retire ~ 25 aircraft
by summer '04.

Hey, I.P. Freley

Where are we going next? Or should we split up and break the curse?

;)

There is no provision for shuttle in the new CHQ TA. I have talked to other chq pilots about shuttle guys in the past-all have been positive and I'm sure we all will do whatever we can at CHQ if/when you guys need us.

No, SpongeBob, NO!

Hee hee hee!

How does selling used cars sound? We already have the polyester pants...

SA Pref Hiring...

Per the CHQ MEC at the Roadshow:

The CHQ MEC was looking out for Shuttle. They negotiated a Pref Hiring clause for the SA pilots. This lasted 5 days until management pulled this clause out of the contract and refused to keep it. This was due to the fact that SA turned down a concession.. ( Which was the right thing to do).

Sorry guys...They did try...

I would think the more accurate term would be "uncooperative".

Does this remind anyone of the Dred Scott Decision (ca. 1857)?

Bonus points if anyone knows what the h*** I am talking about. :D
