RJDC UPDATE
The RJDC is currently seeking all low time pilots wanting a career at Comair flying 767's for pi$$ pay! The RJDC is also actively recruiting all pilots without a college degree who would like to steal flying from the major airlines. Please send in your check for $10,000! This position requires a lack for forsight, greed, stupidity, and a desire to be hated and laughed at by real pilots who got their jobs by building experience and applying!

ACarpe,

Another pearl of wisdom you have presented for us.... can you tell me what a Delta 767 reserve captain makes.... for those of us who are "stupid"....

Ask Capt Ford! Then ask him what he proposes Comair new hires make in that seat? Hurry send in your money joemerchant you dont want to miss out on your billion dollar setelment and your right to eliminate all scope that is left! Send your money to the rjdc I bet that is money well spent!

You sidestepped the question which is par for the course with you... Again, what does a reserve 767 captain make at Delta acarpe... you are proud... so tell us..... Quit being a chicken$hit and answer the question acarpe......

By the way acarpe, we don't have any scope at the regional level, so what do I care if it all goes away.... it isn't helping me anyway....

Therefore, anything that doesn't help you personally is of no value to other persons in the profession?

Scope protects. In a perfect world it wouldn't be necessary. But as your post has conclusively proven, this ain't a perfect world.

I dont know why you think that matters! If it is that important to you look at that pilot pay website! Take anything from newhire pay, to 8 year pay or more! Multiply times 70 hours and you have your answer!

Any scope at your airline is not the issue of RJDC! RJDC is looking to eliminate scope at Delta so the company can operate any aircraft is chooses at the connection level! RJDC wants to eliminate all seat restrictions, planed percentages, etc. Why do they want to do this? So Delta can give the mainline flying to connection at a much lower pay rate! Your new hires would be glad to take the 737s at a starting wage of $20 an hour! You know it! If you deny it your wasting your breath!

ACarpe,

Another pearl of wisdom you have presented for us.... can you tell me what a Delta 767 reserve captain makes.... for those of us who are "stupid"....

A 12 year DAL 767 captain makes just over $11k/ month + 9% DC + 2% 401k contribution + approximately $200K in cash this year from the claim + his share of a $650M note which will be yield him well over $100K.

That's what a reserve DAL captain will make. What do you make on reserve?

86*75=6450/mo crj 700 ASA
75*75=5625/mo crj 200 ASA

83*75=6225/mo crj 700 CMR
78*75=5850/mo crj 200 CMR

aren't numbers and spin fun General? Did you see my prediction that you will be able to hold ER captain by the end of the year? Time will tell.

Therefore, anything that doesn't help you personally is of no value to other persons in the profession?

Whether it is of value to other persons in the profession is irrelvant to me....... I don't think the average Delta or NWA pilot makes decisions based on what is best for me, and I don't make my decisions based on what is best for them... If you want to reform ALPA and make it a true union, then we can talk, until then, I will do what most other airline pilots do............ look out for number one......

Perfect!

You recognize that pilot groups take actions for self-protection...and admit you do it too. But you support lawsuits attacking other pilot groups that protect themselves from...(this is the best part!)...YOU!

Double Standard, thy name is "Joe Merchant"!

No Occam, I am just doing what most other airline pilots are doing.... we would be better off if we had "brand scope" and actually looked out for each other, but that won't happen...... If ALPA insists on continuing with this "us vs. them" form of scope... then expect more of the same...

I'm not expecting much to change.... look at the USAirways/AWA debates.... they make RJDC seem like a picnic....

RJDC- The needs of few outweigh the needs of the many...

As opposed to "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few"?

1. I don't think the "many" are being served well by ALPA's current approach to scope. The mainline groups have lost around 12000 jobs since 911, and the regionals are bidding against one another..... nobody is really winning with the current approach...

2. Do you really expect the "few" to just allow the "many" to dictate things? The "many" can do what they want, but they shouldn't be surprised when the "few" fight back.....

No Occam, I am just doing what most other airline pilots are doing....

Huh? Most other airline pilots are suing ALPA for the right to do fellow-pilots flying for less?

Got it!

Now...prove that "most other airline pilots" are suing ALPA over Scope, or trot your hyperbole-infested generalizations somewhere else.

Occam,

Actually Haber is quite busy.... he has ASA, CMR, PDT, ALG, PSA, TWA, and USAir pilots for clients...

Lawsuits aside, the Compass and MidAtlantic agreements were harmful to the regionals in terms of pattern bargaining. Hard for us to push for more money when our mainline brothers are undercutting us in 70-90 seat market. Mainline calls it "recapturing the flying". Never the less, it was done with the interests of mainline pilots in mind, not the interests of the regional pilots..

How about the bargaining credits mainline pilots get when the allow competition to drive down the cost of regional feed?

How about the age 60 debate.... plenty of "what's in it for me".....

AWA/US Air.... it's all about me...............

Plenty of it going around in ALPA...... lawsuits or not......
