Some medical plans pay for it as your annual physical. At every company I have worked work it is a requirement to be employed as a pilot and you are responsible for maintaining that requirement for employment.

Have you had success with that under your current plan? That would be a handy piece of information to have.
 
I thought I read that the FAA changed the medical durations. That a under 40 first class is now good for 12 months. Can anyone confirm these changes?

that is correct, however the day you turn 40 you have had a 1st in the last six months to exercise your ATP license. The third classs is good for five years up to 40. InFO4708
