Does anyone know if Regions Air is going to hire street Captains for the Saab? The Chief Pilot called and I would like to know if anyone has an idea on the subject. Thanks in advance.

They might try-the last thing I heard about Saab pay
was that it was about where the senior guys
should be on jetstream pay. Ie:taking them
into the 340 on an obsolete AE payscale
on first year pay with no consideration or respect
for the experience they bring or their longevity
with the company.

On the other hand I don't know where they
will get current and qualified 340 CA's to
come to work for less money than they are
making now...

Of course we have no manuals, no training,
no certificate for saabs, no aircraft and not
enough money to pay the current employees
what they have earned and deserve for flying,
maintaining, ground handling, dispatching or
scheduling the jballs-let alone a bigger, faster
aircraft. It might yet happen though-this is
aviation!

Someone once said that "truth is stranger than
fiction."

IMHO it is long overdue for something good to happen for the employees (all of them) at regionsair...I think that maybe the law of averages
is going to kick in...

If you know AV8OR, you'd know it wasn't "pointless chatter", especially given the fact that he was a captain who did hiring there and the thread is titled "Regions Air Info".

Whatever. Stop bothering me.

I think that TRAM and AV8OR need to exchange phone numbers instead of clogging up this thread with pointless chatter.

Since when, my man, is researching a potential
employer idle chatter? AV8OR is a straight
shooter that has a great deal of good advice
about working in this industry in general and
corpex/regions in particular.

TRAM
You are asking good questions. My bluster
and obtuse (and oft misinterpreted) sense
of humor aside there is one thing you do need
to remember about aviation in particular and
life in general...

Nothing is cast in concrete and dang little is
written in sand! So have a beer and laugh
about it!

Tram, I will even buy you that beer! Belch, I will buy you a Scotch, neat on the beach down in the islands. Gonna let me know when?

I tell you what, make it a Root Beer and we're set. :)

Cool-but wait-I might have to go "native" and
check out some of the local rums...dark and
on the rocks...I know that there is stuff out
there way better than Bacardi stump killer,
I've had some. As for Tram, I got a friend
that brews root beer...hehehe!

Maybe we can get a tour set up. One distillery
a day for a week! What the heck, they do it
in Scotland!

Sweet!
