Curious as to when that little nugget of info would ever come in handy?

The little nugget came in handy this past weekend teaching a bunch of folks to use their new WAAS certified 430/530 during GPS LNAV/VNAV and LPV approaches. Some avionics shops are connecting the 430's GPS output to the autopilot (not sure if there is a way to NOT do this) which causes owners to attempt to fly coupled GPS-generated glideslopes. This can make for an exciting ride. The little nugget of info helps to explain to the student why their autopilot is acting so strange and why they have a limitation in the manual prohibiting coupled approaches with GPS-generated glideslopes.

It appears the nugget helps out with the occasional flying job interview.

And other than winning bets at a bar, if you go to bars, the knowledge and a buck eighty-five will get you a cup of coffee.
 
So knowing that the CDI deviation at the FAWP is either .3nm or .2nm(depending on solar activity) keeps the "folks" in question from coupling their auto pilot. Gotcha thanks. So just curious but which CDI deviation (.2 or .3nm) causes the worst ride on the glideslope?
