Refs. and contact question at SWA.

Chase,
I am a first timer to this site. Just wondering if it is a good sign or bad sign that none of my References or contacts have been called. I interviewed mid Sept.
Have people been hired at SWA without their Ref.s being called before the decision board or at all.I think I am on my third or fourth aneorism. Appreciate the info.

No Calls?

I just had a guy put into the poll that I wrote a refence for back in Jul. They called me a couple of weeks before the DB met. My experience was that they called references and prior bosses.......maybe things have changed. Keep the faith and goo luck!!

Not getting your references checked is a bad sign. I know, it happened to me back in June. I have a friend that worked at the same place I did that interviewed last week and they just checked his ref's. If they don't check within the first two weeks of your interview I think they will not check them unless there is a reason for them to delay the calls. Hope I'm wrong. Good luck.

Not getting your references called is not necessarily a bad sign. I was hired and none of my references were called and I have one friend that had the same experience.

I think you have your answer...until Southwest sends you a letter after the DB saying you're not selected, then you're in the running. Having references called isn't a guarantee for a job offer anymore than not having references called means automatically you aren't being considered....everyone who interviews is loked at by the DB....so until they say no, you're a PLAYER!!!! Thanks everyone for your in-put, I think I just hit aneurysm number 5. (Just kidding.) I think that is the first time ever that I've been called a player, Heeeyyy. I'll just keep praying it works.
