Recurrent training/checking is the responsibility of the operator. I don't know why pilots have allowed these operators to put the onus for the cost of 135 training on them. You can argue whether you should pay for initial Type Rating, but the cost of meeting 135 requirements has traditional been, and should remain, a cost to the operator.Does any one know of any FAR part 135/management companies that require a signing of a Recurrent Training Contract?

Particularly inasmuch as 135.351(a) puts the requirement squarely on the operator.I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the legal proceedings after someone is fired for refusing to sign a contract for recurrent.
