I am bringing a bud in for the handshake session later this month.
I read somewhere that the applicants are getting interview type questions.
Any recent experience?

Did mine 3 months ago. I was asked 3 interview type questions:
1) Why FedEx
2) Why hire you
3) tell me about your history

The rest of the time was general (get-to-know-you) conversation. It lasted about 30 minutes. It was a very relaxed atmosphere.

Hallway gossip overheard included:

How do you feel about unions? What do you take to the union? To the company?

How will you balance your ANG/Reserve job with your airline career?

Why you?

Tell me about your leadership experience?

ANY skeletons?

All anecdotal--but it is a lot more formal than in the past.

What's next, pre-meet-and-greet? Then meet and greet. Then interview. Then post interview. Then job offer. Then pre-class interview.

This whole process is stupid.

Sorry but I have to disagree with you on this one. The current system, imperfect as it is, is one hundred times better than anything HR would come up with. At least the path to the interview is controlled by pilots and not some HR person. The more pilot controlled the interview process is the better off we all are!

My M & G was mixed with some interview type questions and some lets get to know this guy to ensure he is not a moron questions.

My .02 is that I have no problem with them doing whatever they are doing. If you have basic communication skills and can keep your terets (sp?) syndrome symptoms under control you should have an enjoyable M&G.

It's Tourette's Syndrome. WHORE!!! Don't ask me (BIATCH!!!) how I know this. SLAPPY WHITE COONT!!!!

See, no problems at all.

You don't need us for that...see above posts....

Some guys who are hot for the the seat have come to us first, but I don't think you need to delay a M&G for coaching. Just get in there and get in the cue...
