Do your homework and make sure that this place is for you before you make a commitment to work there. It is not for everybody, but it does serve its purpose in your logbook well.
RAF is what you make it. It's definitely a stepping stone to better things. When I was was there, the maintenance was "iffy" at best...but that's what I heard from other freightdogs working at other companies as well. It'll give you lotsa practice with partial panel, systems and engine outages! But like someone else said, the flying is fun as hell and the actual instrument experience will do nothing but make you a better/safer pilot - even if the pay sucks. Good luck!
