Anyone hear about Qx bidding for 23-24 Q400 for Dal. Heard from a good source within QX that management would be surprised if they didn't get it. Bases would be Salt Lake and or Atlanta.
Anyone else heard who the top 3 bidders are for the flying?

The truly good sources at QX are tighter than the bark on a tree.

There's no way QX can be competitive cost-wise for this flying.

I hope we don't get it. We've recently felt the sting of ingratitude. No offense to any pilots flying for a DCI carrier, but that's one circus I'd just as soon watch from the sidelines.

I don't think there's one DCI pilot who would be offended by that statement. We all wish we were with you on the sidelines.

Let me guess, are the Initials TA? If it was then he has had alot good insight, I rember he told me last spring that we would be flying Q400's with red tails by the end of the summer. I seriously doubt it, but if lawnmowers can fly (another thread) we might actually win another RFP. I hope not.

This sentence says it all. I can't imagine DAL is willing to pay what QX costs.
Although, I am sure word has gotten out about our performance at F9, so who knows...

We could revert to Mesa wages tomorrow and we'd STILL be more expensive than other regionals...mature pilot group, etc. Of course if we did get down to Mesa cost, I think their pilots would volunteer a 20% paycut to get the flying...

One more reason that pay cuts / "migration to market" for growth is a total crock. Good news is, our pilot group sees it for what it is & nobody's buying mgmt's BS.

Not to mention as Pinneo pointed out our costs include things that Mesa doesn't have like ticketing and marketing under our own banner that adds to the airlines overall cost.

Trust me, you don't want growth if it has anything to do with flying for Delta.

Could be worse. You could be expecting a 6-10 year furlough like Comair.

So you're saying you went to horizon expecting growth and a quick upgrade? Seriously?

You sacrificed upgrade for higher starting QOL and pay.

I think you missed the growth spurt. It was back in the late 80's.

Back in '99, upgrade at QX went from 6 to 2 years over a span of about 6 months, if I remember right. It sure would be nice to see 2 year upgrades again.
