I was at the bar last night and I ran into a SW crew. I remember the Captain saying something about yall getting a 13% pay increase later this year. Is this true? Maybe I misunderstood. I hope its true. Sure would be nice to see the bar raised for a change.

By the way yall got some hot FA's I dont know which one of your pilots paid for this chicks fake tits but they look good. Money well spent.

Pay raise

The actual pay raise that is guaranteed is slightly below 12% (I believe 11.6%). With profitability clauses added in the maximum could reach the 13.6% range. Many SWA pilots have defaulted to the maximum rate quote without being aware there are profitability clauses in this raise (each years raise as a matter of fact). The education process is slow & painful.

There are two periods that will be used to determined profitability, the highest of either (1) Jan-Dec 03 or (2) Jul '03 - Jun '04). I believe the guaranteed rate right now would result in a pay raise of slightly over 12% so we are awaiting the next period to determine if that will be raised to the maximum or whether it will remain at the current rate.

Either way the increases are eagerly looked forward to by all pilots at SWA. Thanks to the pilots at SWA (approximately 67%) who voted for the extension in fall 2002. There were quite a few (33%) who voted against it (some for very good reasons I might add) but many of those now will freely admit they were glad the nays lost & the yeas won....hindsight in this business is commodity that everyone wants but in this case the majority decision has proven to be beneficial for all of us.
