they can call you during your last two hours of your rest period (which is 10 hours) and have you show earlier than you thought. So even if you thought you were sleeping in the next morning, the phone can ring 8 hours after you went on rest. I think this is different than the NetJets rule right?

Absolutely! In the case of Netjets if they brief you for an 8am show that’s it. Your rest period is up to your show time. If they were to call you prior to that (never happened to my knowledge) you are entitled to ask for another 10 hours rest (since the previously assigned rest was interrupted).

I agree with Ultra Gump, I thought the 91K rules were crystal clear - it bothers me that different fractionals have a different 'interpretation'. It sucks for you and it puts my company at a competitive disadvantage.

Rest period means a period of time required pursuant to this subpart that is free of all responsibility for work or duty prior to the commencement of, or following completion of, a duty period, and during which the flight crewmember or flight attendant cannot be required to receive contact from the program manager.



If they're not going to play by the rules, take the phone off the hook, turn off the cell/Blackberry, and enjoy your rest. That's BS.

You don't ask you pick up the phone and thank them for the 10hrs they just gave you and hang up the phone.
