I keep hearing about this but have seen nothing official. Does anyone have any good information about this or is it just another rumor?

Sounds like we have FAA approval to operate them. But are we going to? This might just have been set up to be ready to cover for mesa in case of BK. I don't see any other niche with DAL or UL. There is also the persistent rumor of PHX...but I would think airways would use their current regionals.

Yes, it's true. We're getting Q400s. It's a done deal. Other done deals - we are flying for Southwest, we're buying Expressjet, getting Airbuses, flying for Northwest, US Air, NASA, buying Virgin America..... A couple of rumors may have had something to them but nothing materialized, so believe it when it's on the ramp, or you're training for it or it's on your pay check.

Same was said about the E145 during the proposed XJT purchase, right?

No, but the program was built and awaiting further instructions. It is not hard and does not take long to build a program on a new airframe for FAA approval.

Here's the deal with the Skywest Q400... United wants Skywest to fly 11 Q400s out of LAX but Skywest said it needs enough work to fly atleast 30 to be worth it to them and a longer contract than the 2 year deal that United wants. United won't budge on that 11 number so Skywest approached Delta about flying Q400s out of LAX and to Skywest's amazement, Delta says they're interested. Now they are in negotiations. Skywest needs flying for atleast 30 planes between Delta and United for this to work. Skywest got United to drop the exclusivity clause for the flying out of LAX so Skywest is free to fly any amount for whomever.

Folks this is a very serious deal. Now we wait to see if this deal can come together.

this is not suprising at all if true. Great news for the ASA team as we continue to lose flying and furlough. We lose planes in a 2 for 1 swap deal and i wouldnt be shocked at all if skywest got 30 Q400's. Especially makes sense.. rather than expand the ATR flying and get some 500's, we just get rid of them.

And we hear about new flying, etc.... newsflash.... nobody wants 50 seat lift right now.....We cant get any more 70's & 90's, and i just dont understand why we dont trade bombardier 50's for Q400 to at least make us more attractive for potential new business.

You forgot the CRJ1000 Rumor as a stand alone company!!

you'd also be waiting 2-3 years for the first airframe to roll off the floor. By then, Big Tit Tilton will have run United aground for good, and Republic will take over the world. I also predict MJ will be recycled into plastic bags and still be a hazard to children around the world for years to come..........

I hear we're getting them along with the EFB's and auto-throttles. Not to say it won't happen, but it's not done until they're on the property.

The bad news is we still have no one to negotiate pay rates for a 70 seat turbo prop.
Sapa can't negotiate their way out of a paper bag.

Did Sapa honestly submit pay rates equal to Island Air's? Even 16yr old kids know you start high and end up in the middle area. You don't start negotiating at the middle rate and hope to go up. Why is this happening again after we already took the Ace in the back door? Learn your lesson.

That's why SKW is buying QX. Turnkey Q400 operation.

you guys should have fought hard for a single seniority list! that way this would not happen!

You can't trade 50's for Q400's. Its a bad trade. The Q400 actually cost more money then the CRJ 200's and nobody, I mean nobody would be dumb enough to trade a Q400 for a CRJ 200.

You can't even give away a 50 seat RJ these days. Nobody wants them.

I can see Delta getting them and using them for HHH, MYR, AGS, etc runs.
US Airways better be ready because if Delta jumps on some Q400's and runs them down the East Coast we're in trouble (not that we aren't in trouble right now).

Here are the rates Piedmont Pilots had approved when we we're told by management we were gonna get them. Remember this was 2 years ago also. And we are still under a concessionary contract.

Man those FO rates are junk for a 70 seat airplane.

"but we gotta get them on the property first" right? :erm:

Skywest to buy Lynx from Republic. Exercise all the options an then pay for 10 more. Gunna happen.
