I can see the Out Sation bases opening up for COA. We have IAH, SDF, and CRP now for the CRJ2, along with STL E145 COA flying.
I have a feeling we may see another Texas City as well.
I only applied at one airline, and held out till I got on there because even as a CFI I knew there were only a few compaines I felt were furthering the profession, the one's I mentioned above are obviously not included in that category.
I understand what you are saying. No one is going to be happy however, when 1/3 of their fleet is "up in the air" and it's benifiting another pilot group. Some of us believe that if you worked under an identical contract you wouldn't have been awarded our flying. Some of us believe that by working for a company like SkyWest or CHQ or Mesa you are hurting us all because ignoring a poor contract or a few missing payscales because you'll "upgrade soon" isn't helping those of us at other airlines that won't, and it's certainly not helping those of us that are loosing existing work (at the cost of our jobs possibly) so someone who agrees to work for less can upgrade.

I was under the impression RAH only got 44 airplanes for CAL, XJT is losing 69, and the lift lost by the other 25 will be made up for by 737s at mainline...
You think it has to do with OUR contract? You're an idiot. If YOU listen to the conference call from CAL, we WEREN'T the lowest bid. We won 2 RFPs for a mixed fleet of flying. Do you maybe think CAL is trying to diversify? Do you think they already picked a "winner" prior to the RFP since we have the machine that everyone wants?

You're just a little on the touchy side... To answer your question I know they didn't pick a "winner" before the RFP - and I have no idea what machine you have the everyone wants. I do think that if your costs were the same as ours you would not have won the RFP. Does your contract play into this? Yes... I fail to see how that makes me an idiot.

Instead of lashing out at me why don't you realize that loosing flying is a little bit of a frustrating experience, don't tell me how it's not your fault and how you're just a pilot and I need to grow up. I think the fact the my career and QOL are on the chopping block to the bennifit to others allows me to be a little bit unhappy. I don't need nor want to be called an idiot or be told some 45 year old rugby player is going to beat me up (I know thats not you). Welcome to the world of the regionals....boooo whooooo. Do you see any Chqu'ers on the board whining about how mesa won all of Delta's flying?? Cal dosen't want another Comair situation where if you guys strike the $hit would hit their fan. I'm glad you only chose one regional to fly for, as it sits CHQ would have been the better of the two. Your contract is not that much better than anyones so don't give me the "better contract" BS.

On a side note about commuting to CRP, what goes around comes around. I tried to J/S on you guys on monday out of IAH and was denied. I asked to speak to the captain and he refused to come up and talk to me. You guys have CASS but yet I was still denied, the gate agent told me that in Jan I could sit up front according to our agreement with CAL. You guys want to start a J/S war?? If you end up on one of my flights and have to sit up front I will politely deny you access and give you that captains name who denied me. Hopefully this wont ever happen again.
I have never seen so many wrong bulls**ted statements in one post. First of all XJT and CAL's CASS system has been down for the last month and a half so no other airlines at this time are allowed in the actual JS. Our union is pestering the company is fast as possible to update in the system. With your attitude, I hope you got a mistrip.
Yes, our contract is much better and more inline with a mainline carriers then any other "regional". I feel fortunate to have the contract we have and it was due to a good management team, a better MEC, and an outstanding pilot group with the resolve to aquire a contract that recognized the major airline flying we conduct. It's quite ironic and somewhat sad that because of our threat to strike, the moronic decision by CAL was made to seek out a lower bidder. When I got hired, I was hired by Continental Express, a subsidery of Continental so yes, that was my flying.
I personally don't wish to take anyone elses flying, but you seem so proud to do so. You guys already are having many mickey mouse issues starting up the CRJ program. No, that's not really your fault. But don't pretend like Chataqua is a quality operation and try to convince people to come over there. Suck up your ego and perhaps the lack of candidates will help your chance of achieving a quality contract that your type of flying deserves as sure isn't "regional" flying. Really...CAL's system is down?? How come I commuted in through CASS that night to IAH on CAL? You guys have a waiver that allows CASS carriers upfront...right The CRJ program is right on schedule please tell me how you know so much about our program. Who's running the program? You should start by disliking "YOUR" management team. Flying was lost in this deal and it does suck. Welcome to world for re-bid's. If XJT is (was) to win the Midwest Airlines flying, would that be ok? Would you tell your Management; " Hey, we screwed the Skyway boys". Hell no! You would shut your mouth and fly those airplanes. You may not have a good feeling about doing such a thing, but you would.

Yea, about that CRJ program, I've heard from more then a few pilots that know pilots in the know at Chataqua that there all kinds of issues with the desert CRJs. One's been down for mx in IAH for a few days with tire, strut, etc. issues. Some of your coworkers have questioned the integrity of the operations through statements to my coworkers I've flown with. But you seem to be some lame I assume male HS cheerleader type convinced everything is just fine rah, rah, republic, yea.
c) in the process, they almost took 69 of our aircraft to do the flying

e) most, vastly important though is the fact that some people like Popeye have no sympathy over the deal or our humbled to their fortunes

Personally, on the occasion I've ran into a CAL pilot who didn't like Express, I've told them that I'd much rather have them do the flying, that I'm proud we've achieved a contract that's not in the nature of sacraficing pay and benefits for growth, and that we had 400 of their pilots back on our property for a couple years as evidence of our solidarity.

I give you credit for being far more diplomatic and understanding then Popeye. Time for myself to be far more productive so I'm done with this thread. We'll have to probably just agree to disagree on the status of your test flights because just this week one of your pilots flying the test flight out of IAH was complaining about the many problems including blown out tires the CRJ was having. Time to interject a bit of truth to this one here. While one of the current CRJs has had some problems coming out of the frosty north(not the desert), the one down in IAH for MX is actually a MX simulation to get our MX peeps up to speed.
MX simulations? How do you tell a couple of pilots to go out and purposely blow tires so MX can get some practice changing them. Why not just have them go out and change tires instead of blowing tires. Not trying to bash on CHQ, but the plane actually broke in IAH and you write it off to MX simulations. Yes, we have planes that break at XJT, its life, we get it fixed and dont try to tell people, oh well its just a MX training event for us to randomly break airplanes and see if they can fix it.
i don't know about the tires, the other guys post coincided with the airplanes being down there for MX training and simulations. I'm telling the truth. If an old tire or 12 blew out so be it, proving runs are done and the wave of old airplanes will begin to descend on IAH.
