Actaully PDT did join in for J4J's after PSA was givin the intiial order. A little to late and were told it was a moot point.

There is things in the works to try to protect both ALG and PDT pilots. Even a resolution that was drafted that covered this topic was brought up at our last MEC meeting and both Olaf and Rick were there. The status of it is at idle untill the future is know.

Will the three wholly owned combine senority list's? No, but a few other ideas are out there.

the mec's idea of combining pdt/alg then stapling us to the BOTTOM of yourlist will not fly brother....

i understand rank/file psa pilots issues with a DOH merger, but not many of the rest of us are gonna go for being stapled at the bottom of psa's list....

imho, it's a wasted effort....
nothing personal 328dude, just how things are

Why not? I just came from a US Airways Group airline and am at the bottom of the list with a 10-1-03 DOH. Although I was hired at U in 1989.

I'm not advocating the "stapling" of any seniority list. Just pointing out that there has already been a precident set.

Ok, I'll agree with you on that, but what would you do? Realistically?

Would you rather we combine the two of you together tommorrw that way you start acruing senority, or how about just giving you preferential hiring like we have now and who knows how many of PDT and ALG guys would be protected.

If you claim that's not how it is done under ALPA bi-laws, then name me a instance were it was done by the book.

The combined senority list now is nothing short of a attempt to flow thru to mainline years ago. It's not accurate and has no bearing on this situation.

No matter what this MEC decides to do to help, everyone loses.

If you recall, I still remember the qoute from the ALG and PDT MEC's when we filed a section one grevience over the creation of DCAir on using our certificate and the both of your MEC's said "Sucks to be you". at the executive board.

Where was the unity then?

Hmmm, believe me, that is still very fresh in alot of the MEC's eyes here.

I don't know what could be done, realistically,
your guys would never go for a DOH merging, the rest wouldn't go for a staple, it's prolly all a moot point, the davel and his cronies have seen to the more than likely eventual demise of this airline.

I don't know about any doh mergers being done in the past, because i'm not that familiar with alpa/airline history.

your right, despite what anyone does, everyone loses here, unless there's some serious changes in ccy

as for the dcair stuff, i don't believe i was around for that, and while it doesn't surprise me that the then mec's might have shunned you, that doesn't make it right either.

this whole business sucks, and the unions aren't doing much to help.
for the most part, they are selfserving demagogues, particularly at alpa nat'l, compounded by the incompetence and malevolence of management towards us working schlubs.
so now we've all been sent down the river and everyones clammoring for purchase on any piece of floating detritus. there's been many instances where we all should have stood together and didn't, pdt/alg gave you guys the cold shoulder over dcair, and your mec sold you and everyone else out by signing onto the agreement without even allowing you to vote on it.

and people looked at me funny back in the day when i was flying in the private sector and said i didn't ever want to work at the airlines...

The word from a couple of Bombardier types is that PSA contracted with Bombardier for CRJ 700 Initials through the end of next year. Take it for what its worth.

I dont know exactly what the previous MEC's at ALG said or didnt say, but "sucks to be you" is highly doubtful. and most of them are no longer in office. But to their defense, what exactly were they to do? We did not renig on any agreements with PSA. We did not undercut your contract for our gain. and we had no say what so ever in the DC air thing. Nor did we say if we get "X" you can take PSA and kill them off. This line of thinking is just more of the excuses (similar to the ones from the buy your job folks) to justify to themselves as to why they are taking the course of action they are on. We will work together or surely die. And even then U is such a mess we will probably die anyway.
