Not SWA.

J O don't got the money, ACA take over attempt, Midway purchase with all the Bankruptcy things attached, then the RJ order for United flying.

His 100 million dollar bond cash in back in Feb, was just to cover day to day expense, until he gets his monthly checks from U, America West, and United.

Well I am curious who you think the suitor might be? I can't really come up with a real viable buyer that would want PSA as an intact entity. Your jets, sure. But not the employees.

JBLU- Doubtful
United- 'snicker'
Independance- they already have way too many rj's
American- not
NWA- no need, they kept their DC-9's
DAL- That would be fun to see the Comair guys riot!!

Virgin would be the only real chance that you would have and that appears to be a longshot. Most likely they would prefer a carrier with a little more meat in it. ie. Airbus, Boeing. Maybe someone like Spirit would be more Virgins speed, new airbus on the way, no excess baggage from mergers and RJ''s and such.

That would be a long shot, but why would he need a place with large airplanes when he has just placed an order for Airbus aircraft for his Virgin USA operation? Actually ordered 20 to 30 Airbus.

You said Virgin, not me.

Easier and cheaper to buy in bulk at a fire sale. I would expect he would be first in line to pick the U carcuss clean of 319's and 320's and their experienced and trained crews. Out of senority of course ala Pan-Am.

Snorters-"But since the effort spent by the Junior pilots to try to get the W/O's a break was not appreciated, we will not bother next time, if there is one."

You are in need of full counseling Snorter. Your understanding of the U pilots attempt at benevolence is classic ALPA babble. The only break anyone will see in this ALPA/U designed abortion is the breaking off of the steel rod in the collective pampered rump of the superior class pilots at AAA. When the rod is inserted every pilot in this country should be using a sledge hammer to drive the point home.

"get the W/O's a break"

Snorter please set the crack pipe down and take the crown off your swollen head. Counseling is available, please use it.

I think MESA does have the money to buy USAir.......heck soon they will own the world.....we better get used to their subpar contracts and all....we will all be MESA

I'm sure I'm way behind on this subject, but could someone sum up the J4J at PSA.

I just heard of a pilot I knew who had a '99 seniority # at Mainline now flying Captain at PSA. Will current PSA guys upgrade above these "street Captains", or do they get to slide into the middle with their seniority leaving senior PSA FOs screwed? Also with these folks coming in are there upgrades to be had at all?

I can guess this has been hashed to death, just a quick and dirty answer will do.

Thanks.

As it stands, when "PSA" FO's upgrade we will be senior to the J4J types. The mainline MEC wants to change this around but the chances of that are slim. We just turned down a TA on pay rates and work rule changes by a pretty good margin and most people weren't hardcore against it. However when it comes to giving the J4J guys any seniority for bidding a very large portion of us are willing to shut this place down to keep it from happening. The Mainline MEC needs to play nice or the jets, and those jobs go somewhere they probably don't want to work.

I can't say if any FOs who are starting now will upgrade in the near future. Apparently they are very close to running out of furloughed guys and gals to fill captain slots so that should mean more upgrades for those who have been here a while. I think that if you were hired now you would move up the FO list pretty quick, but any upgrade will come from attrition (sp?) only.
