As has been said before - it's not like the magazine goes out looking for crappy departments. It's just that only the crappy departments will talk to them.

Of course, now that I say that, I'm sure I'll get a call from the chief pilot telling me we're gonna be in Pro Pilot. Heh!
 
Pro Pilot should drop its featured flight department articles. People who respond to the their surveys are windbags who like to see their name in print. (unlike this board).

On the flip side, I've worked for two companies that have been judged "Pro Pilot's Flight Department of the Year", and both companies are companies that most people on this board would love to work for. Trouble is, there are only a few really good companies left anymore, most are just average and just trying to survive.
 
It's not Professional Pilot...

...it's now Prophylactic Pilot in my book. A used one at that.
